Booking this hotel was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Over a month and a half ago, I put in a reservation with this place through Expedia. When I got to the front desk, I handed them my printed out itinerary and credit card, and the lady behind the desk looked at the guy standing next to her, I think he was the owner, handed back my stuff and said "Sorry, your reservation was cancelled for today". When I asked why, they said my "credit card was declined and that they sent me an email last night". Funny thing was, I never gave Expedia a credit card number, it was a pay when you get there reservation. Well, when I pulled out my phone to show them I never received an email they said they would pull it up on their end and that "they didn't send it to me, Expedia did". They pulled up an extremely bogus and fake looking email that was dated THAT day at 1 in the morning!!! Of course, being extremely upset, I asked them how could they not call me, I would have given them a card over the phone, and how could they accommodate me, considering I never got said email. That's when they said they were booked, couldn't help me, but could "hold me a room at their other location down the street". Guess what the reviews were on that place? HORRIBLE. All of the reviews said there was mold and bugs. Yeah no thanks. Now, I know Atlantic City is a rather large place, however we were there for a 40,000 person event and pretty much every hotel with a good review was sold out or $500 a night. Thats when we thought it would be best to call Expedia. Long story short, after being on the phone with them for 3 hours and have spoken to many supervisors, it was confirmed that this hotel did not actually send us an email. They lied. They never told Expedia they were cancelling my room, and Expedia never sent us any email as they claimed they did. What they think happened was they sold my room to someone who was willing to pay double or triple the price that I was, and just cancelled mine, because they were receiving other similar calls about this place from people having the same complaint. Thankfully Expedia was willing to give us a free credit for our trouble and friends of ours staying in Atlantic City let us stay with them so we weren't stuck at this hotels run down recommendation down the street. Best advice I could give to anyone thinking about staying...
Read morePlease note that I rarely leave reviews, so for me to have written this review truly says something about this establishment. Yesterday, my friends and I checked in to this inn. We’re a group of five. The room we reserved through a third-party (hotels.com) indicated that the room sleeps five. It was advertised for two queen beds, so naturally I had concerns about whether this would fit our party of five. I called the day or two prior to checking in and spoke to one of their staff members. I explained the situation and he indicated that sleeping accommodations would be provided for us because the room does say it sleeps five. Great, good so far. We check in. And I remind the person at the front desk of our conversation. He says sure, you can pick up the cot at anytime. Great, good so far. We get back around 8 pm and I call the hotel to tell them that we need the cot. For the FIRST time, I was informed that it would be a $30 surcharge. Granted, $30 is not a significant cost. That wasn’t my issue. It was that AFTER booking and AFTER repeated conversations, I was told for the FIRST time that this would be an additional charge. And the staff member was POSITIVE that he had informed of that prior. This was not the case and he was incredibly rude, impolite and unhelpful. We are not a picky bunch in the slightest but this was absolutely unacceptable behavior. We didn’t mind the weird moldy smell in the room, the random holes, the spiders, or the seemingly random $30 charges for additional things (like checking in early). What I did mind was being incredibly rude to our party and seemingly making up a price after repeated conversations with staff. I would definitely NOT recommend...
Read moreI thought it was weird that the chain lock and the dead bolt were both removed. I didn’t pay got the entire night at first because I wasn’t sure I was staying. He made me pay $60 from 5-9pm then at like 830 my brother found out he was staying at the hospital longer and asked for food. I told the front desk I wanted to pay the rest of the night. and I left my stuff in the room so he said $20 and told me I couldn’t be longer than 30 mins getting back but needed to go to an atm too . I called while I was out and said sorry I’ll be right there he said ok. I get back and he instantly yells about not making my room so messy? (My McDonald’s and clothes were spread out ) I said it isn’t messy and how would he know. He told me he went into my room while I was gone to see if it was messed up. We went back and forth and he said since it’s his property he can go in the rooms whenever he wants… no clue what he did in my room or if he went thru anything … now it makes sense that HE intentionally removed the locks from the doors so he can go in rooms whenever he wants… also as a young girl in AC you have 0 safety there. Don’t stay there if you don’t want someone creeping through your room when you leave and if you want to be able to lock your door at night, don’t stay there either cause he removed...
