I tried to look online for menu and the one I found was not at all what it was. It seems it Is MOSTLY Indian and only some Asian cuisine. The place is decorated really nice and food was good but the problem lies within staff. I had really difficult time ordering food. Waitress didn't understand I wanted an EXTRA side of different rice and kept telling me what it comes with (rice side options were available on menu). Also, she insisted that one meal comes with naan, i asked if we can upcharge to get it as a cheese naan but after repeating and going in circles with no direct answer i gave up.. BUT apparently it was never part of the meal at all so just wasnt expecting another 5$ on top of it. We had a lot of people taking turns staring around at the table or lingering or visiting (which was bit uncomfortable to be stared at), but waitress herself didn't check up or offer refills. They didn't have a drink or dessert menu at all. Then when we were done our food they automatically put the bill down, I tried to ask waitress if they have desserts, she said yes but no menu and then I couldn't understand/ didn't know the authentic desserts and asked for explanation as to what they were specifically before ordering (dont wanna order something idk and end up not liking yknow?). She kinda rudely told me that "they're sweets" and gave no indication of wanting to go further than that. I asked her to go further detail, nothing, i asked her if she could repeat them then, and she said it even faster than the first time. It took asking a nice gentleman who I believe was a manager about the charged naan that I then realized we didn't HAVE to order it the whole time, and then asking him what the desserts were to actually find out what they were. Then when it came to pay the waitress was looming very close over my shoulder with the pin pad device... All in all, I felt very awkward and unless I'm specifically craving Indian i won't be looking forward to going back. We went 4 people and spent around 120$,...
Read moreWe went to try out this new Asian Indian restaurant in the area, which has opened in place of a long-time resident restaurant, W.L. Goodfellows and Co. Restaurant & Pub. The ambiance and seating arrangements of the restaurant are soothing and comfortable, with some very amiable servers and a chef who personally goes around and asks about the food quality. I would give their food quality 4.5 stars, given they would cook their paneer a bit more in subzis(Vegetables) where paneer is a mainstay. Their best dish was the one they all cooked for us, though it was not on the menu: mixed vegetables. This review is based on the vegetarian Mughlai and North Indian dishes we ordered there. This restaurant's specialty is serving Asian, Indian, Oriental, and Thai food. As far as Asian Indian food, they all seem to be serving food that is assorted street food items such as Bhel, Bhajjia, etc., some Goa Curry (a staple food in Goa) – Veg and Non-Veg versions, one or two South Indian dishes – mainly curry, and Mughlai and North Indian dishes. I believe their Oriental food has an Asian Indian bent to it, as there is such a thing as Asian Indian Chinese food. Many folks don't know this, but in India, there is Chinatown in a large city such as Calcutta, where a Chinese population resides for 4 to 5 generations. Possibly, these are the roots of Asian Indian Chinese food. Their desserts are not on the menu, though they all serve a few. Hopefully, they will develop their...
Read moreMy wife followed this restaurant on Facebook for three month prior to opening. It was not a letdown. This is the second time my wife and I have eaten there. The first time was just two of us and we really enjoyed it. Tonight we celebrated my father-in-law‘s 89th birthday. The food was fabulous. The serving staff went over and above their norm. Both the manager and one of the owners followed up with us. The owner Stood with us, asking us about if everything was lighting. Of course it was. We also talked about other restaurants and types of foods that were missing in this area and it seems to me as the group of owners of this restaurant are going out of the way to prep and come up with the food styles that people really are looking for. I’m told they will be making changes to the menu periodically as needed so that they keep it interesting. We had the fish, Indian curry, and the duck tonight. All were fabulous. I was put back by the desserts as most the desserts I felt were Indian, which I’m not a fan of. But my family liked them all and then I was told that they did have chocolate cake. I ordered it and it turned out to be chocolate, mousse, cake, even better and it was awesome. Kudos to the serving staff, chefs and the owners. Great job we look forward to coming back in...
