My wife and I are aficionados of ethnic fare, therefore this restaurant had been on our list of places to visit for a while. Having dined there this week, our only regret is that we hadn't gone sooner.
We were warmly greeted at the door, and were offered to choose wherever we wanted to sit, we choose a nice cozy booth in the front. The decor was surprisingly well done for a hotel restaurant (it is located inside a Days Inn), in fact we thought it was rather classy.
Having visited many Indian restaurants, but not having visited this one, we asked our server for what menu items might be different or exceptional compared to other Indian restaurants. At this point, one of the owners came out and spoke to us at length about their menu. He was so enthusiastic and friendly, we left ourselves completely in his hands and chose his recommendations.
We started off with appetizers of Bhari Mirch, which are long hot peppers stuffed with cheese and spices served on a bed of tomato sauce. Long hots are not very hot, so we found them to be exceptional with the stuffing as well as the sauce they were on. I can't recommend this item enough! The owner was kind enough to also send us the Dahi Puri, as he had spoken highly of them and we did not order them... A mixture of chickpeas and potatoes and spices and sauce served in a crispy puff pastry. The contrasting textures and flavors were outstanding! For dinner my wife ordered Lamb Jahangiri Korma and I had vegetarian Paneer Labadar, both in rich flavorful sauces that makes my mouth water even writing about it now. Although we didn't really want dessert, our server insisted we should try the Kulfi Orange... And since we had not been disappointed in following their recommendations, we did, and again were not disappointed, in fact, this may have been the highlight of the dinner, a hollowed out orange filled with an ice cream mixture with nuts and cheese, cut into slices. We have never had anything like this before!
For friendliness, cleanliness, and exceptional food, I give this restaurant some of my highest praise, and luckily since I live nearby we will...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant yesterday February 20, 2023. We have been coming here for 3 years and have brought many people to this restaurant . I ordered the Masala Tea. It was so spicy I could not drink it and burnt my throat. I told the Owners Wife whom was running the Restaurant yesterday and she said that is how we make it. I advised her Iâve never had your tea with so much Indian spice. In it. She kept saying over and over this is how we make it. I have been there and drank their Masala tea sometimes 3 cups at 3.50 a cup because itâs so good. So upon paying our bill I see she charged me for my Masala Tea which I could not drink it was that terrible. I asked her not to charge me for something I could not drink not drink. She said âWE GAVE IT TO YOU!â I told her she lost a Very Good Customer who comes here at least 3 times a month and brings people. She did not at any time offer to have the Masala Tea be made over nor did she apologize for my not liking nor offer any drink in its place. Upon leaving I told her we would not be back again and she lost Great Customers and I would advise My Friends also. She said okay. I asked if her husband was in she no he is at the hospital with his Mother. I left! I know for a fact the Owner has Always been understanding with issues and Always apologizes when something is wrong. His Wife..seems like she could care less and is concerned about the money they make! We...
