We’ll come back to visit family and stay here every time thanks to the great staff and family friendly rooms.
Visited family in Garden City twice over the last couple years with our baby daughter - both times stayed at TownePlace and the staff were absolutely fantastic, the rooms were perfect for an infant and, later, a toddler. The front desk helped with any little issue that came up included helping find the lowest rate. The cleaning staff were detailed and considerate even with our little one leaving diapers and messes around. They always got us extra towels or pillows or anything we could ask for - all quickly and with smiles. The kitchen setup (big fridge, dishwasher, full size sink) and bathtub were great while staying with a baby needing bottles and the laundry machines worked well and are fairly priced. Breakfast was always better than you expect from a hotel (Greek yogurt, make you own waffles, apples and bananas, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, a few juices and better than expected coffee, cereal/granola, and milk in cartons that we could save for later).
We never used the pool (seasonally limited) but did see a few folks using then gas BBQ in front. They’re pet friendly (including pick up bags at most exits). USB ports everywhere for charging phones, newish TVs and great desk setups so we could even have dinner in the room sometimes during our longer stay there. Dillons was great for groceries though Target is closer. Freddy’s for ice cream is only a couple blocks away, but you’re on the edge of town so many rooms have a nice enough view of corn fields. Parking gets a little harder at night as lots of pilot car drivers seem to stay there, but during the daytime parking right in front was always easy.
Don’t expect 5 star hotel features and understand that their facilities can’t be perfect, but it really was better than the price we paid (which was the best rate thanks to the staff there finding our membership disco I can’t say enough positive things about the cleaning and front desk staff! To the manager, Erica: the young woman who was at the front desk today and yesterday was absolutely phenomenal, she went above and beyond to help and made our second stay...

Let me start off by staying the staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean when we arrived.
We were woken up at all hours of the night because people were outside blaring music. People had also purchased grills and had them set up outside our window. We could smell grill smoke coming into our room almost every day. One night I woke up to the smell of weed coming into our room. We were staying there with our 18 month old. They were smoking right outside our window with about 15 people. The smell was coming in through the air conditioner and it spread through out our room. The next day we left immediately and went to another hotel. It was like a frat party going on every night. I can't believe the hotel would allow any of this to go on especially at a Marriott. When we left we told them exactly why we were leaving.
After reading the reviews, it seems like this is a common occurance. A lot of the guest are here for months at a time, so it's not just guest staying a night or two causing the issues. If you have a family please do not stay here.
We also had an issue with bugs in our room. I'm assuming it was because we were on the first floor and were coming in through the AC. I walked into the lobby and saw a laundry hamper with towels being folded in the common area. I found that a little gross, but it may not bother others. The hotel is only a few years old but it has a lot of wear and tear. Handles in the kitchen, tv stand, and bathrooms were falling off. It looked like they tried to patch the holes in the walls but did not paint over it.
I really hope they will fix these issues. A lot of families come into town and stay there. Its the only place with a full kitchen and is pet friendly. I don't want them to have to go through what we did. You should feel safe when staying in a hotel and not have to worry about your child being exposed to...
Read moreThis is not a 5 star hotel; however if you are staying for a long time and don't want to eat out daily, this is just about your only option. Several hotels in the area have mini microwaves and refrigerators, but if you want to cook more then from the microwave the kitchenette is a huge bonus. I have stayed at numerous Marriott's throughout the country some are better than others on many levels. The room is decent with kitchen. A little dated but everything works and it is cozy. This hotel has many conveniences; however, the biggest issue for me after working 14-16 hours is not being able to come back and find a parking spot. Very Disappointed with lack of parking. Semi cabs take 3+ spaces have been there in the same spots for 3+ weeks. Lots of construction type pick ups. Wouldn't be in issue but they consistently take up 2+ spots. Trucks with trailers are parking horizontal across 3 spots in the front of the building leaving little room for anyone with a normal vehicle to park. Several times have come back from work with only handicapped spots available, not wanting a ticket if the police ever come through; doubt the hotel will reimburse for that ticket. Decent breakfast. Some of the staff seem like they can't be bothered, but most are friendly. I've had several packages delivered to the hotel, as I am 'living' here for several months and I have only received 1 phone call that a package had arrived for me- this is odd, usually Marriott's are good about doing that. If you want housekeeping service removing the DND sign does not mean they will clean your room. I removed my sign today expecting a full clean since it has been awhile since having service, only to come back 13 hours later to a dirty room. They do not provide welcome gifts for their Platinum Elite members, nor do they provide complimentary upgrades like the Marriott Rewards site states. Close to just about...
