I stayed at this property in May, during Memorial day weekend. To my surprise, this hotel was not packed at all. There was a bus group that stay here a few nights. But if you didn't see the bus, you would've never known a group was there. I enjoy the Best Western Hotel chain. I'm a Platinum Elite Member with close to 200,000 points. Getting to that status and point level, does not happen overnight. This goes to show how much I enjoy Best Western. Before I arrive, I usually touch bases with a manager to assure everything is correct. A few days prior to my arrival, I spoke with the G.M. who was by far the most pleasant person to speak to. She was very professional, understanding, and its exactly what I come to expect from any Best Western. At the time of check-in, I had the pleasure to meet LaToya who again displayed that very same professionalism. She greated me with a Warm Welcome, explained the property lay out, near by restaurants, and shopping centers. I also enjoyed the fact that I was already checked in prior to my arrival, which made the time standing at the counter a breeze. Once I entered my room, I found a welcome letter from the Hotels G.M. with a token of their appreciation, inside of a Specially Marked Box from Best Western. Inside the box was, bottled water, chips, cookies, and I think candy. Moments after I entered my room, the front desk called and asked me if my room was suitable and to my liking. I thought that was absolutely fantastic. The following day, the G.M. called and asked if I was satisfied with my room type, and asked what time I would like housekeeping service. In addition to all of the above, inside of every guest room, there's a door tag that you can hang on your door each night for housekeeping purposes. Your able to request a late service, early service, no service, just extra towels, or whatever you choose. This property was great. I liked the room upgrades, flat screen tv, pillow top mattress, soft oversized towels, 100% non smoking hotels, (and I'm a smoker, but I liked that you didn't have to smell smoke), a fresh clean room smell, and Free Washer and Dryer. Only one small problem, this property does not have an elevator. Therefore I would suggest those with children and others who can not handle stairs, to request a room on the first floor. Overall, this is a...
Read moreI really wanted this to be a positive review because the lady at the front desk that did our check-in was extremely friendly and brought a smile to our faces after a long day traveling. When we checked in my husband asked about a smoking room, we are both smokers, and was told that all rooms are non smoking but that we could go outside to smoke. We had no problem with this so we paid for the room and the lady at the front desk advised us of the nearest exit door from our room if we wanted to go outside to smoke. We took our things to the room, now this is at almost midnight, and then went back outside to have a cigarette before turning in. On our way out the front desk clerk said a few words to us and then when we came back in we asked her about a drink machine. We went and got a few cold drinks and then went back to our room and immediately went to bed. We got up the next morning at 9 AM, got dressed, gathered up what we could carry, and went out to our vehicle to start loading up and had a cigarette while we were outside. We went back in and gathered up the rest of our stuff, turned our key card in at the front desk, and left the hotel. I was checking my bank statement this morning and saw that we had two charges from the hotel so my husband called only to find out that we had been charged for smoking in the room. He asked what proof they had that we had smoked in the room and was only told that it smelled like smoke. We are smokers, I am certain that our clothes and our luggage smells of smoke! We did not smoke in our room! After speaking to our attorney we were told that hotels will pin this charge on you more often than not, especially if you ask about smoking rooms and they know in advance that you are a smoker...although they do it even if you are a non-smoker. This review is not being left because of the money, it is being left because we were basically...
Read moreVery disappointed. Easy check-in, nice representative. Called prior to check in needed a room since I was leaving the bar and didnt feel like driving back to durham. Was told I can check in and Id still be charged a full night if I checked out the next day at regular checkout time, which is 11am. That gave me enough time to rest up. I requested a 12 pm late check out and was given one. I left around noon. I checked my card the following day and was charged for two nights. I called the next day and asked why I was charged double and was told that it was an authorization that would fall off. I understood that because Ive worked in the hotel industry. I was told the funds should appear on Tuesday. Tuesday came and they werent there so I called again to be told several different reasons why my funds werent returned. I was told that I came back to the desk and extended my stay which never happened. I was also told that I was double charged because I checked in so late, and they charged double for that which I've never heard of. I called corporate who empathized and comped a 25$ gift card because they agreed the charges were incorrect, but then told me that the individual hotel had control over the charges. The hotel finally contacted me once again and told me theyd do a further investigation, here it is a week and some change later and I havent heard back from Them yet. So very disappointed will never be back and hopefully this happens to no one else. Just a word of advice, DONT check in past 12 with this place or at least not after their audit because you will be falsely...
