TLDR: This place will tell you anything to make the sale, then tell you you're SOL once they have as much of your money as possible.
My wife and I came here after rolling the dice on a few online brands (who had excellent refund policies), hoping a professional could help point us in the right direction on an expensive purchase that affects your daily life (we have back problems). The salesperson seemed knowledgeable, and we used the scanner that makes recommendations. Laying on a mattress for a minute is very different than sleeping on it for 8 hours, so I asked about the exchange program, specifically how many times it could be used. The salesperson told us, "Until you find the right one. You just have to pay for shipping each time". We remember this conversation because if the answer was anything else, we would have left as this process has been long and painful (literally) and the flexibility was extremely important to us. We settled on a mattress that we liked the best during the short testing periods and sat down to finalize the details. At that point we were told that to be a part of the exchange program, you had to pay for their $400 mattress cover. Fine, we're thinking that's the tax for flexibility, we're willing to deal with an excessively priced cover. The mattress gets delivered, we sleep on it for a few weeks, and it's too soft. We go in for the exchange and get talked up to a mattress twice as expensive. We pay the shipping again and give this one a try. A few weeks later, we're still not comfortable, so we go in for another exchange. The original salesperson is not there, and I'm told they only do one exchange and that there's a very slim chance an exception can be made. I explain what I was told ("[exchange] until you find the right one") and why I specifically remember the conversation, at which point the new salesperson calls (no answer) then texts the original salesperson, who simply says, "I didn't say that, sorry if that's how you took it". There was no point in playing he-said she-said with a 3rd party, so I asked when the original salesperson would be back so we could talk. I returned a few days later, at which point she immediately doubled down on me misunderstanding, there being very little they could do (without me spending even more money (and even that ended up not being an option)), condescendingly repeating policy when I made any suggestions of a compromise, and continually pointing out details of the contract that was conveniently glossed over at the original signing. At this point we're $5k in the hole, sore, and left with a corporate phone number. Go...
Read moreLove the product I bought (Temperpedic), but I had a terrible experience. I came here immediately after visiting another mattress store where the salesman was EXTREMELY knowledgeable. I would've bought a mattress from them, but they didn't have the item I wanted. Came to the Mattress Warehouse about 10 minutes later and met Will Johnson. His salesmanship was a big disappointment compared to what I had just experienced at a competitor's store. I was trying to decide between 2 mattresses and asked Will what the difference was between the 2, and he just said, "this one is superior". He couldn't tell me anything about these $4K to $5K items without looking at the information inserts (something I could've easily done for myself). On top of that, Will told me the mattress I bought had a 25 year warranty on it, and later I found out it was just 10. Will set up my mattress delivery but failed to add the "old mattress pick-up" into the deal, so when the delivery guys showed up, they had no idea they were also picking up my old mattress, which immediately put me into a "begging" type situation with the delivery guys who put me on the line with their dispatch office. They declined my request to take my old mattress despite my offer to pay cash and the fact that I just spent $5,000 with their company. Will's lack of knowledge and failure to set-up my transaction correctly (because he was trying to squeeze my commission and get to the next customers that just came into the store) caused me to have a poor experience with my purchase. I wish I would've gone to the store at a different time when he wasn't on shift. I can recommend the product I purchased, but I cannot recommend Mattress Warehouse as a good place to do business and complete a transaction you'll be happy about. I was asked by Will to give a 5-star review with his name included so I could be entered into a drawing to get a free mattress cover. It's not worth it to me to get into the drawing. I'd rather that potential customers be aware of what they might be in for when they visit...
Read moreI wanted to update this review based on our ACTUAL experience working with Mattress Warehouse. Do not waste your time or money on this scam of a business.
My husband and I were searching for a mattress to help with our severe back pain. The sales associate, Alena, had us lay on their so-called "sensor mattress" to determine the best option for us. Heads up â this "sensor mattress" is nothing more than a gimmick, a cheap sales tactic designed to manipulate customers rather than provide any real insight.
Alena then pushed us toward a specific mattress, and we explicitly stressed how important it was to find something that would help alleviate our pain. She reassured us, saying, "Don't worryâwe have a return policy, and weâll work with you until it's right." Spoiler alert: That was a lie.
She also conveniently mentioned that to be eligible for an exchange, we had to purchase a $400 mattress cover. Fineâwe did it. We were desperate for relief.
We gave the mattress a fair try for two months, and our back pain only got worse. So, we went back to use the so-called exchange policy. Alena then told us we had to pay another $200 to exchange the mattress, andâagainâtalked us into spending even more money on a pricier model. At this point, we were just trying to get some relief.
After 60 days with the new mattress, the pain was even worse. We returned to the store again, only to be told there was nothing they could do. That "return policy" Alena promised? Turns out it was a one-time exchangeâsomething she conveniently left out. When we pushed back, she became combative with my husband and refused to help in any way.
At this point, Mattress Warehouse has left us with nothing but worsened back pain, wasted money, and an infuriating experience. This company thrives on deception, manipulation, and empty promises. If you value your health, your money, and your...
