Habaneros Tacos Tequila Mezcal — Restaurant in Grandview Heights

Me and my husband were very hopeful since the reviews are good, the rating is 4.6 so that indicates a pretty good food experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us. I was considering 1 star, however I’ll give this place a benefit of the doubt since, again, the rating is high. First off, drinks. We ordered a spicy cucumber margarita and just a regular lime margarita. The first was delicious and spicy, however there was no cucumbers, or cucumber taste to it at all, just jalapeños. $14 for a drink that came as a regular $12 jalapeño margarita. My husband’s drink was also delicious. However, he ordered the same second drink and it tasted off. Both of us realized it tasted like dish soap. Not a big deal, we figured the glass didn’t get rinsed off properly, it happens. We told our waitress and she was apologetic and quickly brought us another one. Unfortunately, that one also tasted off, soapy. We’re not really sure if it was actually soap or what, but both of them tasted completely different than the first one. At this point we just asked for the check. Food was ok, mediocre. Fish tacos were edible but that’s it. I thought it would have fish chunks in it, but it was almost like minced fish meat. Wouldn’t be an issue if it actually tasted good. I was wondering if the fish wasn’t that fresh, or the seasoning was off, but the more I ate it, the more weird it tasted. Having been to Habanero's Hilliard, both Main St and Mill Run several times, we were so excited to try the new restaurant. Unfortunately, we had an extremely poor experience. The building and atmosphere was beautiful, but the food was very much subpar. First, there is no listing on the menu what toppings are available to order in your burrito/burrito bowl. As traditional "make-your-own" burritos, this is extremely difficult on both the customer and server. We then asked the server to add lettuce, tomato, corn salsa, avocado into the burritos we had ordered. When we received our food, each order only had meat rice and beans in the dish. We even had to ask the server to come back and bring this to her attention. Lastly, one of our margaritas was served to us with a fly in it. I am hopeful they can correct these errors in the future. I will not be back to this location, will stick with Hilliard. Also, we bought 2 burritos, 3 margaritas, and chips and salsa - our bill was 70 dollars. Overpaid and...

So the food was delicious! and the presentation was cool looking. However it was a lil on the expensive side and the portions were small, also our server took about 10 minutes to get to our table. which is ok even tho they weren't busy, but then after taking our order she didn't come back until I flaged her down with a hand in the air from across the dining room. Also they do NOT offer chips and salsa b4 the meal. This is the first Mexican restaurant I personally have been to that doesn't offer the chips and salsa. Gosh I don't mean to complain this much but one other thing I didn't like was how bright it was in there. you know for evening dining I just figured it wouldn't be as bright as the cafeteria in a hospital or jail lol.
