I have stayed at this hotel for many years. Staff is usually super helpful and friendly. We booked several rooms for my son's wedding this summer and past family events. Krista Carol and Ted have always been kind courteous and helpful. We usually have a service dog with us and they have always been accommodating. Tonight a front desk clerk named Debbie was very rude! When asked if there had been any cancelations that would allow me to upgrade our room, she said since we have a service dog and that limits us to what room we can stay in. I said in the past we have gotten to stay in the two room suite and Roxy just sleeps on a pet blanket that was given to us. It's never been an issue. She told us NO. All rooms for pets are sold out. I said she isn't a pet she is a service dog, and it's discrimination. She kept challenging me and I said that's fine I'll talk to Ted or Krista regarding her mannerism later. She said told me I'm calling my manager now . I said thats fine can you check me in first, she said NO. Debbie has a I'm gonna get you before you get me attitude. She immediately talked on the phone telling the manager how Rude I was and difficult I was and that I wouldn't accept that they wouldn't let me in any other room. I asked and explained my past experiences and she basically said I was lying. I said I understand you dont know who i am, but a lot of the staff does. She continued belittling me, lying and talking on thr phone then said wousl u like to tell her that and handed me the phone and It felt completely juvenile and unprofessional but it turned out, Krista who I have worked with in the past happen to be on the other end, I tried talking to her while Debbie in the background kept saying that's not true, no i didn't while making faces and shaking her head. I told Krista u have guest in the lobby and trying to check in and this is how she is acting. Krista confirmed that she heard her as well. Debbie said these guys aren't guest, regardless it's humiliating embarrassing and completely un professional. I told Krista I don't even want to stay here. And mind you I didnt have my dog with me because my family wasn't staying this time. It was just me. Krista said she understood. I told her I would figure it out and go from there but I would be reaching out to proper authorities to file a complaint. To top it off the hotel, not sure if it was Debbie or someone else canceled our reservation without asking or confirming with us. We contacted Wyndham and they confirmed the reservation as canceled. Under the ADA, hotels cannot refuse you and your service canine accommodations and or limit you to where you can go and stay. It's discrimination. So now we are finding new...
Read moreLast week my family was forced to evacuate our home due to a Level 3 fire evacuation and while the flames stopped short of our property the smoke became overwhelming which necessitated leaving no matter what. I saw the AQI in Grangeville, ID was very good, and noticed many 5 and 4 star reviews for the Super 8 there, so we drove the 3+ hours South in hopes of getting relief for my 2 young children.
From the moment I called through our departing, the Grangeville team was welcoming, sympathetic, and accommodating. My family was exhausted and drained from the worry and entire experience, and the team at GVS8 made us feel more like being at Grandma's home rather than a motel. I am picky about hygiene and cleanliness and was surprised and a bit shocked at how CLEAN the ENTIRE facility was, from the bathrooms to the rooms, to the lobby to the pool - all were immaculate; I don't even know how they do it.
After getting word we were allowed to return and arriving home late that evening, I realized I had left a necklace given to me by my mom who has passed on - I was heartbroken. I called right away (11:30pm) and the desk attendant kindly took down my information and said he would relay it to the morning staff, which he did. Susan called me later the next day to inform me they had found it and would be sending it back to me; she even sent me a picture of the receipt with the tracking number! I literally just picked it up from the post office today and it is safely back around my neck.
I've stayed in plenty of hotels and motels during my life, expensive and cheap, and nearly all wouldn't measure up to the Super 8 in Grangeville; it is truly a gem.

We stayed the night of June 9th 2024 and it was all sorts of messed up. I will start at the beginning. I booked a room for my wife and I a night away from our kids to treat her and we booked a couple weeks in advance because I wanted to make sure that we got the room with the balcony. When we checked in, we were told that this room was under maintenance and that we couldn’t have that room so they decided to give us another room without a balcony and that’s where the problem started. I talked to maintenance at their hotel to confirm a couple days later whether that room was under maintenance or not, and he said there was not. We were lied to, and I don’t know if it’s because they overbooked somebody else into our room that we reserved. We ended up staying there for it says eight hours, but we were out and about most of the day went out to a movie went out grocery shopping and got all of our stuff that we needed for the night and the next morning of our time stay there. We decided that since the fireplace didn’t work and they said it’s because it was too hot, but we were never told that it wouldn’t work if it was too hot we were just told that they had a fireplace and we wanted to have that while we soaked in a tub in the room that we didn’t want. So we decided to leave the same night and the same night the gal told us that she would get us a night stay back and we would get this taken care of. It took almost a month for them to call me back and tell me that there’s nothing they can do because we at least stayed eight hours of the night after lying to our face and now doing nothing about it.
