I have stayed at Gateway Inn for 7 months while waiting to relocate to Missouri. First, everyone that works here besides the Manager and Owner are extremely nice - the Manager seems controlling, is rude and actually argued with me one day about cleaning my room. The rooms are kept acceptably. The breakfast is bad. The customer service is bad.
I had asked a front desk clerk to sell me a roll of quarters to do laundry and her response was, "we are not a bank." I left and bought the quarters from the grocery store.
The Manager herself charged my debit card $50 extra for my last month without telling me first or giving me a receipt. This caused an overdraft of my checking account which is how I found out. The owners response to this complaint was, "really?" They did not correct it nor did they pay the overdraft.
After telling them that I would be leaving in a month, the Manager decided that she no longer wanted to offer me a monthly rate and instead wanted me to pay the daily rate. I had no choice but to move 45 minutes away for the last month I would be in Idaho.
If there is nowhere else to stay, stay here - Super 8 is in the same parking lot but is owned by the same owner and shares employees. Otherwise, I would not suggest a stay. Definitely take caution with allowing them to keep your credit card number on file!
I just want to say one more time that everyone besides the Manager and Owner treated me very well.
I hope...
Read moreStaff was so welcoming. It was hot outside and upon entering our very clean room, the air was already on and the room was nice and cooled down. The grounds are real clean and well kept. There are chairs to sit in outside your room door which was real nice in the evening. Our beds and pillows were great, lots of tv channels, and my mom appreciated the low step in shower. Microwave, coffee pot and fridge in room. We slept great. Did not use the pool, but it looked clean and nice. The outside has had a little facelift and has new light fixtures, windows and paint. Again, very neat and well kept. They even have a Veterans parking spot❤️. They have a note in the room to let you know they have towels if you want to wipe down your car. The breakfast was simple grab and go but again, very clean. There are masks and sanitizer available if you want them and even a grab bar to go up the two stairs to the desk. There were some bicycles locked up outside which seemed like they were there for hotel guests. Everything was so thoughtful, and we appreciated it. Thoughtfulness, a lost art. When I am back this way, I will definitely...
Read moreStayed here during a motorcycle trip and had a great experience! The hotel was conveniently located near a gas station and right off the highway, which made finding it easy. The staff were super helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The mattresses were a bit on the firm/springy side, but were just fine. One thing that delighted me was when I got up the next morning and found that staff had left some towels on our motorcycles so that we could dry up the morning condensation from our seats - it was a simple gesture, but one that I found quite charming and hospitable. The simple continental breakfast was good and made it easy to grab a bite to eat before taking off. Another note - shortly after I left, I got a call that I had left my USB speaker in the room. It was kind of a spendy little thing, and I was glad that they had the honesty to call me so that I could loop around to retrieve it. I can imagine that at some hotels, it would have just "disappeared," but not at this place! I had a great time and would happily...
