The location of this unit is wonderful! It is right on the beach and near the end of the developed area so the crowds are not as bad. The view from the 13th floor, I mean "P1", is spectacular as well. The pool's location beside the building is odd because it is shady inthe afternoon there. The filter may have been broken as well, because there was a lot of debris floating around.
Inside, the unit seemed clean, but when we pulled out the couch to make a bed it was FULL of sand. Then the shower door would not close or slide well and fell off on us numerous times. There were bunkbeds, but the "mattresses" were 2 inch pillows on top of a wooden slab. The bedroom door locked itself every time the doorknob turned, probably because the knob itself was severely dented in on multiple sides. But...we've been to this area many times, we love the beach, and so we just rolled with it.
Now for the bad. Our lock was broken when we arrived and we had to call Vacasa to summon someone local to help. He promised to return the next morning with a new lock, but we nevr saw him again. Luckily he showed us a "trick" to open the lock most of the time. He also gave us the correct wifi name because the one Vacasa gave us id not exist. (Note: he gave us info on the property's global wifi rather than the one labeled with the room number)
Then halfway through our trip the internet went out. As the tvs use Roku sticks, no internet meant no tv either. We called Vacasa immediately and they said they were having someone local take care of it. I continued to follow up for the next two and a half days, only to be repeatedly told that they have notified local maintenance...but no one came and the internet did not come back. By the first rainy afternoon, the kids were so bored that I started my hotspot and started running through data. I told Vacasa that the internet outage was now costing me money, and that 24 hours seemed a ridiculous amount of time to have no new information. I had also requested at the beginning that if they couldn't connect me through the main wifi, that if they would give me a password I could at least connect to the one labeled with our room number. I continued to follow up with them through the messages and on the phone for the next day and a half. Finally I loaded the app again on the last afternoon of the trip and see that they have updated the app and it now shows the room number wifi and password instead of the incorrect information it had previously shown. No one contacted me at all, but I finally got the internet up and running just in time to pack. The internet outage wasn't the real problem. The problem was the Vacasa people. They repeatedly told me to reset the router after I had assured them many times that there was no router in the room. They told me that I was not allowed to reach out to the local maintenance myself, but if I called Vacasa I could talk to them. So I called Vacasa and was still not able to talk to anyone helpful. They brushed me off and the only reason I ever got the internet back on was because I went to the app searching for how to review my stay.
Overall the entire situation was handled poorly. We (Vacasa staff and I) had even discussed a partial refund given the trouble, but I haven't heard anything from them except for the checkout time message. The condo had quirks, but it was fine. But now I know a management company that I should avoid in the future. I UNrecommend...
Read moreWe just got home last night after staying a week here... #1 the fact that it's the last condo before GSP was awesome.. you have almost zero foot traffic outside or on the beach so it was always clam and quiet.. the room was 1008 and was well stocked with everything you need and nicely decorated.. for the most part it was clean but the baseboards in both bathrooms were kinda gross but overall very nice.. we stayed 4 nights and 5 days and the "price was around 1225 but by the time they slapped on fees taxes and anything else thought of it was over 1400 and only one parking pass when the condo sleeps 8 so we had to pay for another one so just be prepared for that... the rolling carts for loading and unloading your stuff are not supposed to be left outside your room, mine was sitting outside my door when the cleaning lady knocked on the door and was a little rude and smart about it when I was literally walking my bags to the door to put them on the cart..but again our stay was wonderful, nice condo, and location is amazing!!! Would definitely stay here again!! Also we had no problems with anything.. everything worked and in...
Read moreI recently stayed in Royal Palms 708 for 27 nights. The condo was a huge disappointment and Brett/Robinson was a poor excuse for property management. I have been visiting Gulf Shores for forty years and have always loved my time there. I used Brett/Robinson for the first time to book this trip. The condo was in great need of repair. The vertical blinds were falling apart and wouldn’t close, the refrigerator was rusted on the outside, part of the flooring was missing in one of the bedrooms, there was one broken down sofa and no other comfortable chairs to sit on, and the shower fixtures were disgusting. I spoke to someone seven different times about repairing the vertical blinds and no one ever came. I explained that I am a widowed female and really would like to close the blinds at night, but I spent 27 nights with the blinds open. I am appalled that Brett/Robinson is not a better management company. They apparently never inspect the condos they handle and don’t care what condition they’re in. This experience was a first and last—I’ll NEVER use...
