Exceeded all expectations! I was hoping for a nice, romantic weekend and did not expect to get such service with a room. Everything was effortless. I can tell Terry and Eve really love this place and take such care of the property and gardens.
Located in the old Town just off Main. So much history between the bridge and Kelly.
Quiet location with plenty of parking. Farmers market w minute walk on Sunday mornings.
You can walk to the beach but it is a bit far for some. We walked from the Inn to the beach and along to Venice and back, but I love to walk on the beach.
The Inn is decorated beautifully with wallpaper, artwork and antique furniture. The breakfast room has French doors all round it making such sunning setting for breakfast. In the evenings treats such as cake and cookies are for the taking.
As for food and drink, there are water bottles, beer, chilled white wine sherry and brandy in your room. Need more just ask. Want cheese and fruit? Ask. They understand all the things you might want and providing it makes the stay so effortless. Even a newspaper.
The breakfasts were delicious. Terry asked i did tell him I was a picky eater and he easily offered option I liked. We even had a breakfast in the room. The coffee was good and strong and a whole carafe. The fruits were arranged on the plates and the presentation of all were terrific. The butter with Grand Manier and marmalade was a standout.
The room was sweet with a window seat and a breakfast table and chairs. Bed was soft but excellent. Memory foam top? Idk, but sheets were perfectly white and very soft. Room was very clean. I have allergies and this room was NOT dusty. Lots of books in nightstand including one that had a great walking tour of the old Town.
Windows all opened and good cross breeze. Shade and blackout shades. Um, claw foot tub was cool too.
Need anything, just dial 50 and Terry probably has it for you.
The gardens were beautiful and there is a very private hot tub. It is clean but lots of chlorine so rinse...
Read moreWhat an incredible experience! I know I am simply echoing the sentiments of those before me, but service as spectacular as this cannot be over-praised IMO. The Inn is immaculately kept, the rooms are romantic and ornate, with just the right amount of intimacy and individuality. The clawfoot tub was big enough for a delightful bubble bath, the bed made us feel like we were sleeping in a royal castle, and the roaring fire was icing on the cake. Decorated for Christmas like something out of a Victorian novel, our holiday was made extra special by the warmth and gracious hospitality of Terry & Eve. No expense or extra touch is spared and you are made to feel like a VIP from start to finish. Our breakfast was divine - I highly recommend the hot chocolate! It was the best myself or my boyfriend had ever tasted and we guzzled the carafe as the friendliest poodle came to sit by our side for some lovable scratches and snuggles. I was a flight attendant for several years and have traveled the world but the Mill Rose Inn is hands-down the best service I have ever experienced in hospitality. This was a surprise birthday trip as a gift from my boyfriend and, thanks to Terry & Eve, it was the best birthday in my 30 + years of life. I have already recommended the Mill Rose Inn to a dozen clients so do not hesitate - book now! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Terry & Eve - your establishment is a true gem...
Read moreMy family and I stayed overnight in the second floor Renaissance Rose room (Suite 5). The bed was much bigger than I thought it would be and was very comfortable. There was a gas fireplace in the spacious room and windows on two different walls. The 'family room' had a large U-shaped couch which gave the three of us plenty of room to ourselves. It could pull out into a bed but my tall son chose to just put a sheet on it and use the extra provided blanket. He said it was very comfortable. There was a mini-fridge in the entryway and a large bathroom with an old-fashioned tub/shower (picture a claw footed bathtub in a Victorian house.) The room was very attractive and the bathroom clean and large. |I helped myself to the provided tea and a cookie in afternoon and sat outside in the lovely garden area to read. When it became a little cold I moved inside to one of the several communal seating areas and sat on a gorgeous high-backed victorian-looking chair. In the morning we used the breakfast voucher to go around the corner and down a block or so to the Moonside Bakery on Main Street and have the two egg breakfast. Our other voucher choices were a scramble, a waffle, french toast, pancakes, or oatmeal and all included coffee or tea. It was delicious! I wish we'd had more time for breakfast - the baked goods looked delicious too, but we had to get on the road . I hope to stay again at...
