We were here for the library card, and this is our first time here at half moon bay public library. The building is bright and new, and they have a very nice reading room for children. What interest me the most is that they also have books in traditional Chinese for kids and for adults.

WOW this place is beautiful!! Newly constructed and the crown jewel of Half Moon Bay, from what I hear. I was able to score a gorgeous window desk on the 2nd floor on a weekend afternoon and really enjoyed the scenery and atmosphere while studying. Everything was very clean.

One of if not the best and newest public library of San Mateo County. Probably the best place to read and have a quiet time in Half Moon Bay if the weather is cold and gloomy. Kids would love it for sure.

Not much by way of books. I am very disappointed. As a community center this is excellent, but this is supposed to be a library. Libraries are for books. Also, when I asked the nice young woman at the desk if they'd be bringing more books in, she said no. She smiled brightly though and said that the books here will all be new. When I asked if that meant newly printed or newly published, her face went blank. Her face stayed blank when, to clarify, I asked if this library would be bringing in many of the classics. She did not understand what the word classic meant. This exchange happened when the new library first opened. The book selection is...

I spend a lot of time in libraries, and this isone of the nicest ones I’ve ever visited. Great design, inside and out.

For the people complaining that there’s should be more books: 1) this is a town of only 13,000 people, 2) more books will come in over time as there are more releases, and 3) if this library doesn’t have the book you’re looking, you can reserve it and they will deliver it from another library in their system. (I do this all the time and I live in a much larger city.)

My only suggestion is that they add...

First time at this San Mateo County library, and it might be one of its best! Modern architecture, sleek lines, high ceilings and lots of natural light, lots of comfy reading chairs, and serene inside - at least when we were visiting. Extensive amenities and well organized, there are weekly events, study rooms, a 3D printer and learning studio, an event space, and a courtyard and outdoor area for children to...
