We ordered a room before our trip out from Tucson. We asked about the room size and in the pictures it looked small but the I believe owner told us it was a decent room. We were only going to stay one night and enjoy the day there before heading up to a Wedding up in Campton New Hampshire. We were in Salem the day we were going to be going up the Hampton Beach to stay that night. I have never had a hotel call me at 3PM and presume I was going to be there right at 3. We were in Salem eating, drinking and taking in the sites. I am getting called and bothered, that she (the owner) is going to be leaving and when am I going to be there. So I look up on Google maps and it was about an hour or so drive plus we have to hike back to our car. I said it will be about two and a half hours. So she says I will have to see if I can leave the keys down in the restaurant below the Inn. So I am waiting for her call back, wondering if we even have a place to stay or not that night. Thought that was awfully strange in all my years of traveling. She calls back and say the restaurant has the key. When we get there it is a real pain in the rear end getting your luggage in a side door with your flashers on in the street. Have to huff you luggage and stuff up steep stairs. Then run your vehicle down the block or so to a parking lot. We get into the room and it is the tiniest little thing I have ever seen. If someone was there that dealt with the rentals I would have seen if they had another room or balcony room we could move up to. But they obviously take off at 3PM. So we are stuck with this hideous little room. When we went to go to bed. We pull the bedding back and there is no top sheet. I pull the sheet on my corner thinking I am going to maybe find another sheet. But no. Then I look at the bed and it has a huge pee stain. I didn't say anything to my wife, because it was late and if she had seen that she would have got the hell out of there so fast ones head would spin. I don't believe we could have gotten another room in that little area (Hampton Beach) that late at night. So we were stuck there in this nasty place. Also the bathroom floor went downhill. Enough you could feel it walking on it. The window in the bathroom was broken stuck open you...
Read moreI’m choosing a 2 star because of the location on the boardwalk and proximity to the beach and that’s really it. It really should be a 1 star.||We were shocked by a couple of things when we first arrived. First, this place is not ADA compliant. If you cannot carry your bags up at least two flights of stairs, do not book here. ||Second, the entrance that you’re directed to use is on the side of the building directly on the street and it is unlocked at all times. Anyone could walk into the building if they wanted to. The rooms are locked with plain lock and key, no key cards or even a dead bolt. Soo better make sure you don’t forget to do that. ||Third, this place is NOT clean. The reviews that say it is, are baffling. Immediately I noticed how our shoes slightly stuck to the vinyl flooring when coming into the building and going up to the room. And then we actually got to our room…. I’ve stayed in hotels and air bnbs and I’ve honestly never been so surprised. I don’t expect places to look like the Ritz but I DO expect cleanliness. I mean…. The flies in the main hallway were laughable.||Sleeping was especially annoying considering the bright lights that line the building. The room only had blinds, no curtains. We had the room on the corner of the building, so two windows allowed a substantial amount of blue light in. Just kind of a common sense issue. ||When I emailed about us leaving a day early to see if we could get any money back they just chose to not reply at all. I know we probably would have been denied anyway but I still wanted to try, I didn’t expect to be totally ghosted. Needless to say we stayed less than 24 hours. ||I rarely go out of my way to write a negative review but I felt compelled. When you don’t feel comfortable walking barefoot in your room,...
Read moreI’m not sure what people expect from a beach town that has music, bands and restaurants on every corner that for the last 50 years has catered to young adults. Before doing a review people should do their homework. Hampton beach is a family place during the day and a party town at night. It is physically right next to a concert venue duh!.That being said The Boardwalk is one of the cleanest hotels with best food I have had in Hampton, and I have stayed at many. Their food is not frozen boxed food, it is made fresh and I have not had a bad meal. There is a bar and a restaurant. During Covid last year they opened just for us, we were the only people in the place and they gave us a huge discount for the new decorations not yet being in the room. This alone proves they care and have a good staff. It is very clean, no sand no mold but the rooms can be on the small side like most Hampton rooms. Splurge on a second room if you have more than 3 people in the double queens. You can sign out a hairdryer ( kids steal them), they have soap, makeup remover , great big fluffy towels and a pretty big mini fridge. The double queen room 306 had two fridges. There are accessible rooms on the first floor no elevator ( only one hotel on the beach has one). I love this hotel and will only stay here now. Don’t listen to bad reviews of people that didn’t find out what kind of place Hampton beach is and that are picky whinny mean people. If something is broken or wrong they are very...
