Before booking this hotel and again before writing this review I read other reviews and agree with most comments. I was concerned about the hard mattresses and broIught my own pillow, but I had no complaints about my mattress. As mentioned by others, the breakfast is very basic. Surprisingly, the hotel does not even serve decaf coffee with breakfast, and the juice is sweetened punch not real orange juice. Decaf is not in the room either but the front desk will provide decaf packets on request. Hotel staff are also friendly and accommodating. The wifi in my room was excellent. However, I was not happy with the smell in the room. When I checked in i was given the key to a room with an overpowering smell of room "freshener" and possibly mold. The friendly desk clerk let me try two other available rooms and I chose the one that smelled the least. The hotel apparently puts stinky air smellmakers into the electric outlets in all rooms.I immediately removed mine, but on the second or third day of my stay the housekeeper plugged it back in and the room smelled overperfumed again. This is the kind of smell that gets into your nostrils and stays there. I worked in my room one day with the door open and the bathroom fan on but after a few days the unpleasant smell still did not go away. I do not know what other unpleasant smell this perfume is intended to mask, but this was enough of an unpleasantness to make me think twice about staying here again, even though the hotel was otherwise satisfactory and a reasonable value for the money. Most of the vehicles in the parking lot were pickups, if that says anything, but this is Texas, and the other guests were not noisy or intrusive most of the time. I could park right outside my first floor room, which was convenient.||||When making my reservation I was puzzled by the fact that none of the online sites showed availability here for my days or any other days. This seemed to be a red flag. The only way to make a reservation was through Texas Inn's website, which is under par. I asked the desk clerk whether they are boycotting the online agencies or something but she knew nothing about the problem, although others had...
Read moreThis is going to be a novel so get ready. The nicest part of this hotel is the lobby that you will probably spend less than 10 minutes in you're entire stay. The bed is harder than a rock you're better off sleeping on the tile where it's softer. There are no amenities whatsoever. There is an ice bucket in the room but no ice machine. No coffee maker in the room, it's only in the lobby during morning hours (powder creamer and sugar are the only choices available)The cup is probably 6 oz they provided you with. Good for toddlers you like caffeine. Speaking of the morning, there is no breakfast at all. Not even the cheap Otis spunkmeyer blueberry muffins. They do have plates if you bring your own breakfast I guess. It shows there is a golf course on priceline but they don't mention it's 5 miles from the hotel, not included obviously. The only positives are the ac worked well and it was a nice bathroom if you want to hang out there. The nicest part of this hotel is when you check out never to return. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Shame on Priceline for promoting this hotel. All positive reviews are from 6+ years ago. It was an awful experience. Stay at Motel 6...
Read moreBEYOND DISAPPOINTED with this establishment. I called and spoke to the manager about reserving a room. I was told there was a vacancy, so I made the reservation and paid for it. Mind you, the payment was instantaneously withdrawn from my account. I got this room for a friend of mine who has medical conditions and needed a place to stay due to no electricity because of Hurricane Hanna. Well, she gets to the hotel and the manager told her the room was cancelled. I never got a call telling me it was cancelled. The manager said there were so many walkins that came in. I said it doesn’t matter. I spoke to you on the phone just 30minutes ago about securing the room. If I secured the room before any of these walkins, the reservation should be honored!! Well, she did not honor it, and I had to call hotels.com to arrange getting a refund that is going to take a week to get. Why can’t it be returned as instantaneously as it was withdrawn?! In speaking to the manager, she was rude and very unprofessional. I will NEVER even contemplate reserving a room here ever again. Completely disappointed with the process, lack of professionalism, and POOR...
