Rolling Smoke Bbq — Restaurant in San Benito

I came in hungry and excited to try some local barbecue, hoping to discover a new go-to spot. I ordered the half chicken plate, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The chicken was on the dry side, and the barbecue sauce was a bit sweeter than I prefer. The rice didn’t have much seasoning, and the beans had a texture and taste that reminded me more of lentils.

That said, everyone has different tastes what didn’t work for me might be just right for someone else. I’m always rooting for local spots to shine, and I appreciate the effort that goes into running a BBQ kitchen. This just wasn’t the flavor profile I was expecting, but I hope others enjoy it...

Smelled it going down the road looked up reviews, stopped in for a couple of plates to go. Smell drove me crazy on long way home to SPI. Brisket extremely moist and melted in your mouth. Sausage was outstanding. Potato salad was excellent. Beans not a fan of will skip next time. The sauce on the side was fantastic. My spouse who normally does not like BBQ also loved it. Needless to say will be back for more. Price was reasonable for the quality. They will need a bigger location. Reminds me of Brett's in Katy or...

A welcomed surprise... I drove past this restaurant last week thinking they were a catering office, BUT I was wrong - THEY HAVE DINE-IN & TAKEOUT! Tried their brisket, chicken & sausage plate with potato salad & barbecue beans. Everything was delicious & the prices were ridiculously low for the amount of food. Skip the overrated Longhorn Restaurant along the expressway & instead, venture 1 mile into the heart of San Benito to...
