I stayed here 2 nights to attend an even at Met Life stadium (driving up from Philadelphia). I was a little hesitant after the mixed reviews, but overall it was pretty positive. The room was clean and appeared to be recently updated. Clean, modern TV (with Netflix etc), nice bathroom, decent beds. ||The complaint I have is there is basically no sound insulation from the hallway. Person opening the door next to you sounds like they are coming into your room. People talking in the hallway? Sounds like they are in your room. There was a wedding party staying at the hotel our first night, and while they weren't particularly loud, there were a few people talking near our room in the hallway (at normal volume) around midnight and it felt really loud since our room was silent at that point. Thankfully it only lasted a few minutes, but it could have been worse if it had been a poorly behaved group. Didn't notice any noise at all on the second night.||It's an easy Lyft/Uber ride to Met Life. Getting out of Met Life Stadium is a mess, but I don't think that's avoidable due to the Met Life set up. (We eventually found a taxi out of it, but talked to other people who said it took them 2 hours to get out. That's not the fault of the hotel, though.)||We drove back to Philadelphia on Monday morning around 8:30AM and didn't hit much traffic at all. I'm not sure if that was just lucky, but it seemed like the hotel was situated in a spot relative to NYC that let us get to I-95 south without getting sucked into NYC traffic (although we hit a fair bit of NYC traffic on Saturday afternoon on our way to the hotel.)||There is no free breakfast. There is a 7-11 right next door to the hotel and we walked up there to get basic snack food each day. ||Hotel fitness center needs a little work. Cable machine was broken and looked like it was broken for a while. Managed to get a short workout in, anyway, but they should fix it.||Parking was free and plentiful. I'd say here again if I were going to Met Life Stadium. It was close enough that it was pretty easy to get there, but not so close that they had jacked up the room rates for the event. (Some closer hotels were charging...
Read moreThe only thing Hilton at this place is the name. I been staying in hotels on East Coast since early 90's and will never stay here again...and been loyal Honors Member but here goes as to why i dont see this as the other reviewers, and maybe i expect too much. The traffic noise...i thought window was left open, no just old rundown single pane of glass that doesnt latch...this is the 6th floor. No big deal, just turn AC/Heat to fan mode. There is no fan mode...front desk confirms they removed that feature. So you can better hear I80 and trailer brakes every minute. They offered to change rooms if i hadnt used the room yet. So do sound check first. No bathroom fan either...nice! The soap, better be sparing because you get one 3inch bar for sink and showers, shampoo, conditioner bottles almost empty, guess its expensive. The tissue box was on last sheet, no big deal. You get two towels and both never seen softener, reminds me of my starched fatigue pants from Army days when we jokingly stand them up with nobody in them. Upon check out...like robot, never ask how was stay...they know and probably why parking lot had maybe 6 cars. I mentioned my challenges...just look down pretend its not happening. Then i suggested they sell ear plugs and soap at front desk as business opportunity...nothing. So if my typical Hilton standards are too high then stay here, but all seriousness this place was overhauled for cosmetics only...even the channels on the TV are completely miss labeled. My background is science and my career is science so i call it like i see it and these are the facts. If management wants to see the pathetic windows i took several pics. If you are loyal to this place and like it then keep going there. For other like minded folks stay away because they simply do not deserve or truly want your business, and i paid $120 for it. Lastly one good note to be fair...sheets were clean, even though bed had side wore down so you can role into it when...
Read moreUpon arrival front desk agent Parth said that he gave me a complimentary upgrade with a view for being a loyal Diamond member. So I get to my room on the 4th floor yet my preference is the higher floors. This tiny room had a nice upgraded bathroom and that's it. Big flat screen TV but not a smart TV. They had the worst cable TV service with only 40 channels. The guide only gives you the channel numbers not names of the network or the shows that are currently airing. These 40 channels only consist of news, kids and family series. Just to reiterate how terrible the cable service was. When you can't find a channel that runs continuous episodes of Law & Order then it's bad. My cellphone wouldn't pair because it's not a smart TV. I couldn't use my Firestick because the TV was mounted to the wall. The beds were made up with FLAT SHEETS instead of FITTED SHEETS so everytime I flipped, turned or got out of the bed I would be on top of the mattress which is totally nasty! The room DID NOT have a refrigerator to keep my medication in. Also there was no microwave to heat my food unless I go back down to the lobby. There was no QR Code or literature in the room to tell me about the hotel amenities or even a menu for the restaurant. I would have to go back to the lobby just for that. And finally the curtains were not on the hook so by 6am my room was brighter than outside even with the curtains closed. Also I won't mention that spot decor design on the ceiling! This was the worst Hilton that I have ever encountered. Before leaving I requested a manager but the Front Desk Supervisor said that I should speak with her. I told her everything that I just said and she said "I'm sorry". I also requested that the manager call me asap because I was not pleased with this stay. Needless to say I am still waiting on that call. This stay didn't not meet any of the Hilton standards that I am accustomed to. To be honest I probably would have made out better at a Quality...
