Continental Cookies — Restaurant in Hackensack

This was honestly the worst experience that I’ve ever had. I drove by one day and the cookies smelled so good so I thought that I had to try it. I made the order and it was so easy and everything seemed great. It was allegedly supposed to be 1 day shipping but since I placed the order on a Friday it wouldn’t be shipped out until Monday. I should have received them on Tuesday but no I got it on Thursday. Fine things happen. I opened them and they were so hard it was crazy! I’ve never had cookies so hard in my life with no flavor. I got them for my mom just because she loves cookies but these are going into the garbage. You try to make someone feel special with a small gesture and it just backfires. Such a waste of money. I grew up eating Italian cookies and never really liked them because of the ubiquitous anise or almond extract that gives them that horrid overpowering aromatic flavor. When I tried these I felt like I was missing out on how Italian cookies should have tasted my entire life! They use real almonds and pistachios, no extracts or aromatics. Whenever we order a box it is gone within a day or two. Too hard to stop eating them once you start. Everyone is always happy to see them come through the door. Ordered Two. One for me, one for my mother. Hers were a nice mix of cookies with some special ones. Mine had three rainbow, a lace and one choc covered coconut. Under that a bunch of crumbling butter cookies in colors that were plain and all crumbs. Not holding up. Two different quality levels in the two tins in the same order.
