Our host, and owner of The Honeybee Inn Kristen, was fabulous. I visited a few weeks before our stay to make plans for a surprise engagement. Kristen helped me make plans to ask my girlfriend to marry me during our breakfast. She helped me meet and hire a photographer where the three of us planned for this special day.
Upon arrival and check in she made it easy to get settled in after a tour of the historic and beautiful home. Soothing music playing, flowers, wine and other treats awaited us as I purchased the romantic package.
After getting set up we had time to go to the Horicon March scenic overlook and see the small town of Horicon. We stopped for dinner and ice cream. We got back for the night and had a wonderful warming fire outside to start out our Labor Day weekend. Kristen had everything set up so we could enjoy a special night sitting by the fire.
Kristen helped me plan to have my custom playlist of my girlfriends favorite songs while she made a delicious breakfast while the photographer was waiting in the piano room.
Then the moment came when I got down on one knee and asked Susan to marry me.
Kristen made sure it all came together for the most special day of our lives so far.
The Honeybee Inn is fabulous. Old charm with new amenities. Alexa in the room, and all the towels and supplies nicer than a 4 star hotel. Susan made use of the large soothing bathtub with the whirlpool jets that circulated the provided lavender bath bombs.
Although The Honeybee Inn is off of Highway 33, it was quiet and we got a comfortable night sleep in the large bed with the nicest sheets and comforter.
Thr Honeybee Inn is within 5 minutes of the Horicon Marsh scenic overlook and we used the rented electric bicycles on our tour of the marsh.
It was a nice time of the year to go and Kristen had beautifully decorated for the fall season. It was a very nice weekend in a beautiful charming home with a caring owner who made sure we had everything just right.
We plan to stay again at different times of year,...

A hidden gem in a small town!
An unforgettable weekend! The host let us check in late on a Friday, which is super nice. The whole experience was so nice. We wanted a quiet weekend away from the kids, and that's exactly what we got! We didn't leave our room the entire weekend except for going downstairs for breakfast, and going out to dinner both nights. Our room had a nice jacuzzi in the room, and it was so romantic.
The outside temperature was sub-zero, and there's no forced air heat in the bedroom we stayed in. However, the bed was super comfy with big warm blankets, and the host supplied ample space heaters for the room. We were not cold at all, even though there was literally a blizzard outside.
The bathrobes that were supplied were a nice touch, and we wore them pretty much all weekend since we really didn't leave our room for two days, lol.
The bedrooms are upstairs, and there's a nice little coffee bar in the shared hallway.
The first floor of the house is decorated very, very nice. There are several "parlor" rooms with books, games, and comfy furniture and soft music playing.
We didn't see or hear other guets the whole weekend, except for sitting with another couple at breakfast. Our room had a sound machine that you could put by the door, but we honestly didn't even know there were other people in the house at all it was so quiet and peaceful.
The host cooked a nice little breakfast for us, which was perfect.
The whole house was clean, comfy, and made for a super romantic and intimate weekend.
At breakfast we connected with a few other couples who were all staying there for the 2nd or 3rd time, and it's easy to see why they came back. This is truly a hidden gem!
There's a few good little local bars within walking distance, and then there's two supper clubs less than 15...
