This is a long review, but, I'd want to know these things. Maybe it'll help management out as well. Any issues mentioned might be fixed by the time of your stay ...
It was a good price. It was pretty clean. Decent breakfast. Blueberry muffins, bananas, red apples, juices, oatmeal packs, coffee was nice & strong w/ a choice if flavored creams. They also had a waffle maker.
Most of the staff were very kind & friendly & went out of their way to be helpful, there was just one who could've been more welcoming.
It is an older hotel. It was recently renovated. I love that they've got the non carpeted floors esp since they're pet friendly! Pets stay free, nice touch.
I would strongly suggest that they add a few ice makers, even just for safety reasons! The front desk clerk our 1st night said that they only had one?! I was hoping he meant just in that building, but, we didn't see one in ours & he checked us in, so, I guess he meant out of 3 or 4 bldgs, they only had one!
It's in the back of the office bldg & down a loong hallway, through the old, big, French doors & into the lil alley, where it looked like there was a maintainance shed & a wooden staircase, maybe up to the manager's apt. So, there's that.
I try to be really open & understanding when I review, but, people want to feel safe. Esp w/ the recent report about the man in AR who owned the convenience stores & was involved in human trafficking.
My mom & I were placed in a building behind the office bldg. There was a way to go around the pool & into the office. We asked for double beds, I'm not sure if the rooms in front & close to the office might've been just king or single beds or not.
There was a lighted, covered walkway for the bldg beside us & next to the office bldg. That was nice. It was nicely lit in some places, but, in oths not so much. It was available to us also, of course, if we didn't want to walk by the pool, which wasn't an issue, because we stayed when it was almost winter.
The USB ports in our room didn't work, but, they had plenty of outlets to make up for that.
I've never seen such clean drawers esp in a hotel!
The turntable in the microwave part of the micro-fidge was missing & there was no light in it, so, that ended up in a coffee spill-everywhere. So check, perhaps, by feeling, for the turntable if there's no light in your microwave either. Don't rely on just your eyes. ☺️
If you're a bath person, these rooms are walk-in shower equipped only.
If you tend to get cold easy, ask for extra blankets or bring your own as the covers are thin. There were no extras in the room. But, we definitely understand that management might have this done to be cautious, because of theft.
We liked that the hangers were made so that you could take them on off easily w/ the hanger part still on.
They gave us a lil face cleaning towelette, those are great. Coffee, tea, decaf, cream & be sugar packs w stirrers & cups are provided. Shampoo, soaps & travel packs of Kleenex are part of the amenities in your room.
The water part of our coffee pot was pretty dusty & had some hairs in it. I just cleaned it out, but, it's something to note.
There was a nice iron, board, 1 cup coffeemaker & a hair dryer can available.
No clock radio in our room as featured on their list of amenities, but, we had electronic devices for the time of our own. It would've been nice to...
Read moreWe stayed here Memorial Day weekend due to it being the only hotel within budget at the time. We ultimately experienced two rooms here because our first room on initial inspection was as expected. However in the morning, the shower was no longer working. Thankfully the staff was able to provide us with another room with a working shower. Our first room was ok but the bathroom was not as clean as we’d like either but wasn’t anything we couldn’t handle. It happened to be a handicap accommodation with a connecting door to another room which was unexpected. We do wish that was made more clear in the listing. Unfortunately the bathroom only came with conditioning shampoo and shower gel. They really need to have a separate shampoo and conditioner. The containers that they sit in on the all are also so hard to push to get product out. If you can, just bring your own products. If anything, there is a Walgreens close by to get what you need. The rooms also had a couple of flys that we ended up having to swat at. AC units were a bit loud but not enough to interrupt sleep. Once we had a room with a working shower we were pleased with the water pressure. Beware, the rooms walls are paper thin, so if you have a loud neighbor you will hear them. The rooms also came with a fridge and microwave in case you had brought some goodies with you. There are also vending machines with snacks and an ice machine. You can also set up a meal in the courtyard that sits just outside the pool area. I don’t believe the pool is heated but given the temperatures it was unbearable. I do wish they had the net around the pool area to help clean and skim the bugs out. I definitely would have used it had I seen it. They could benefit from keeping the pool cleaner. I noticed some algae and debris on the bottom of the pool. This is also a pool without a lifeguard but they do have a safety ring and telephone for emergencies. In terms of breakfast, it was lacking. They had a lot of carbs like cereal, toast, and waffles. However the waffle machines didn’t have the spray out when we were making breakfast so it got stuck and ruined the waffles we made. The free breakfast area could use some updates. For example. There was a table for one of the waffle makers that they should get rid of and instead install a counter in that area to create more breakfast area space. There were no eggs and sausage which could be an easy addition to their breakfast buffet. They do have a sign to keep breakfast there but I say you take what you want if you are staying there, especially if you are on a hike, those snacks are good to have on you should you need them. The location is ok, but not great unless you enjoy being away from the central location of the national park. It’s not walking distance either. However it is quiet and an a hot day we found the pool to be quiet during the day and had it all...
