We spent an over night at the Rodeway Inn Hot Springs National Park Area. This Rodeway Inn is an older motel as one would expect. But it has has some refurbishments that make for a decent place to stay. It is located fairly close to the hot springs places of interest. But there isn't much close by in the line of restaurants and such. The closest ones seem to be fast food type of restaurants. Once checked in, our room seemed decently clean and upgraded. Although the furniture looks like older style furniture. It could be newer furniture, or not. I guess that doesn't matter, since it has what it has. But it doesn't look bad or create problems that I can see. The flooring looked like carpet, but was a lament or such. The bathroom has a nice shower/tub combo. It looks modern and nice. As does the sink, toilet and mirror. The whole bathroom does look nice and modern. The tub doesn't make you feel like you're going to fall. The water felt soft and had decent water pressure. There were not shelves to hold bottles and such. But it did have the tubs edge which did the job. I guess the ladies could use the edge to shave as well. It has two lights, one over the mirror, and another in the ceiling, which also turns on an exhaust fan. So it's not a bad little bathroom. There is also a counter and mirror outside the bathroom with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. There is plenty of counter space to supplement the bathroom, because the nice modern sink in the bathroom does lack counter space. But that is the limitations of the old motel design more than the choice of a modern sink. There was also an iron and ironing board hung on the wall if by chance you feel a need to iron a garment that was just a little too wrinkled. There is a good size TV with plenty of channels. The dresser is right below the TV. Then there is a desk and second table. The desk is good size and had an AC outlet, with both 110 volt AC sockets open. There was also another 110 volt socket on the light over the desk. There were also AC sockets on the lights on each side of the bed. As well as an open socket next to the coffee maker on the counter. The heating/AC unit seemed to work well and wasn't overly loud. There was also a chair and ottoman in the corner for your relaxing pleasure. There was a pool behind the office building and across the parking lot from the rooms. We did not use it, so I won't comment on how good it was. But it looked decent from the outside of the fence. They had a continental breakfast that was included, in the office building. It had no protein to speak of. Well they did have milk, yogurt and gravy. But nothing like eggs or any type of breakfast meat. Not even hard boiled eggs. They did have waffles, biscuit & gravy, cereal, apples and bananas. I might have left something out, but hopefully you have an idea. And the coffee had powdered creamer. I guess you could walk across the room and get some milk out of the cereal milk decanter. All in all this wasn't a bad place to stay. I always try to rate a motel on what it offers you in the price point compared to what you don't get. In this case the Rodeway Inn Hot Springs National Park Area, was a decent place to stay, that didn't break the bank. Not it is not a five star hotel. But it is a much less expensive option that gives you what you need. It was clean and comfortable and upgraded to a more modern standard than the design of the building would let on. For that I gave...
Read moreThe lobby stank; maybe it was curry or another incense because the owners are Indian. Our non-smoking motel room also was musty. The beds were WONDERFUL, but the bathroom was designed in1953 with a sink the size of a 12 inch skillet. The shower was missing a spigot, but the spray was adequate. The room next door was noisy with 2 small children and 4 adults. Housekeeping seemed not to be able to speak English. Breakfast had only two choices of cereal, and the sausage gravy did not look as if it had been eaten. When I made my Belgian waffles, there was no spatula to take them out. I am nit-picking. We were satisfied for a 1 night stay. The pool was nice, but chaise lounges need to be replaced because they are cracked, broken or discolored. The water, though, was very clean. We slept well and were pleased to have a refrigerator and a microwave. I am nit-picking because middle-cost motels need to achieve notoriety for exceptional service in Hot Springs. People should rate Rodeway's customer service and rooms with the same level of pride as an overpriced high-rise. Families or business travelers who must spend the night in Hot Springs should not need to fork over a lot of dough. One more thing: my son left his wallet in the bedside table, and the owner/manager called us to tell us that it was left. We were able to retrieve it without any problem. By the way, my son is only 10, and all of his cash was still in the wallet. Now THAT is service,...
Read moreEveryone at this hotel was kind and friendly. I had read some reviews that were questionable, but the price was right so we stayed anyway. Well, I was NOT disappointed. I thought the room was very nice. The bed felt nice, I think the mattress was probably new. They took out all the carpet in the room and replaced it with a lovely plank wood looking vinyl. I wish every hotel did this , SO much cleaner! The room had definitely been upgraded with newer furniture and bedding. There was a microwave , fridge and a coffee maker in the room. Some of the reviews complained about the bathrooms. The bathroom was not new. It had a nice new title floor and the old tile , tub and counter. That being said, let me tell you first of all it was actually kind of cute in a retro way ( which is very popular now), but it was also VERY clean. Isn't that the most important thing!! I have stayed in some rooms with beautiful new bathrooms that hadn't seen the Tilex in months!! This wasn't moldy or dirty and it was in good condition. The water pressure was a bit low, but I didn't have any problem getting the shampoo out of my hair or the soap off me. The owner said they are working on fixing this. The breakfast ( waffles, cereal, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, sweets.....) was plentiful and the breakfast room was nice and clean. All in all we were very pleased and would not hesitate to stay...
