Cesar Chavez Rooming House — Hotel in Houston

I lived here from 2019 to 2020. Juan Hernandez was an outstanding staff that answered all my questions prior to landing in Houston and he arranged everything to ensure I had a secured room at this location. The rooms are super clean and just as expected: a bed, and a few furniture pieces; every room varies a little from each other in design & furniture. Back then I paid $400 monthly with everything included; this is a bargain anywhere in Houston; you won't find anything like this in the city. They are very flexible and you can pay by the month. They have a communal kitchen and it also includes daily cleaning. Do not listen to the reviews that say that this place is infested with bed bugs, mice, and other nasty things; if you want something nicer, go rent an apartment for 1000 $ a month with no utilities included. EDIT UPDATE: I forgot to mention that the tenants here are super nice; I was jobless for the entire 2 years I lived here and all the residents there were always open-handed & generous with me in terms of handing out food provisions; many of the people who have lived here have struggled in some way with homelessness in the past; so there's a...

If I could give less I would... infested with roaches and bed bugs... they're literally crawling the walls in the hallways and bathrooms. I kill at least 5 adult bedbugs first thing in the morning. The manager (Betty) is the worst. She post notes almost every day for her own personal pet peaves but not for real issues....For example "no talking on the front porch after 8:50"... she pops out anytime you try to cook in the kitchen. She wakes up the whole house daily yelling about only God knows what... one morning she even yelled at a dog barking outside?... It's actually better than I expected. Is it spotlessly clean? Nope. Are there some bugs? A few roaches here and there. Is it a quiet, safe place to lay my head at night? Yes.
