Wayside Rooming House — Hotel in Houston

Beware of this place. The place is filthy and theft is rampant. You can't even keep food there. Getting your mail or packages is a crap shoot since residents and people in the area steal, hoard, and or throw away the mail. The management is horrible. They're on their fourth property manager over the past year. The previous manager was fired for stealing rent. The owner did a mass eviction despite knowing that the manager had not only been stealing rent but had also not gave receipts and had altered their books. The place is also often unstaffed. They also tend to not follow the law (mainly building and AC codes) and they will avoid paperwork, such as giving tenants their receipts, copies of their leases, and so on. They play stupid and fight when asked about it but they're quick to and smart enough to file evictions, trespassing orders and will go to court with bullshit paperwork too. They're especially into double charging and other money scams since they like to avoid paperwork and according to them, they "lose" their records. You can pay weekly or monthly but you have to be on guard because they'll try changing rent dates on the fly despite what was initially agreed upon and signed for in the case of the weekly option. They also charge for air conditioning and deadbolt locks despite rampant and periodic break-ins to tenants' rooms. Unless you have no other options, stay...

The worst experience ever. This is not a good place to live, not even if you are currently homeless. The property manager is going through some personal issues, that effects her judgement. She has treatened more than one person with her gun. The management company are not willing to to accept complaints about her.
