Absolutely Disgusting - Avoid at All Costs! Don't Let the Facade Fool You!
My recent stay at the Days Inn located at 11002 NW Freeway, Houston, TX was an absolute nightmare. While the exterior, front lobby, and some room furniture appear to have been recently renovated, this is merely a facade. The underlying issues of extreme uncleanliness, poor service, and neglected maintenance made my experience truly awful. Don't let the superficial renovations fool you – this hotel is a disaster. I have also taken several photos to document the conditions I encountered. The Room: Roaches: The room was infested with roaches. Uncleanliness: The room was filthy. The sheets appeared to be unchanged, the bathtub and toilet were dirty, and the floors were not swept or mopped. There was food stuck to the computer chair, and the door was visibly dirty. Broken Toilet: The toilet was broken upon arrival and remained broken for a significant portion of my stay, despite repeated requests for repair. Rusty Microwave: The microwave was full of rust and clearly needs to be replaced. Outdated Windows: The windows are extremely outdated and offer no sound insulation. You can hear everything happening outside, making it difficult to sleep. Filthy AC/Heater: The in-room AC and heater units were full of mildew, dirt, and unknown substances. Dirty Light Switches: Some light switches worked, others didn't, and all were filthy. I had to use a cloth when turning them on and off. (See attached photos) Sticky Remote: The remote control to the TV had some sticky fluid on it that I do not want to know what it was. (See attached photos) Service: Front Desk: Upon arrival, the front desk clerk was asleep behind the counter. When I reported the roach infestation, I was assured it would be addressed in the morning. This was not done. Management: Even after notifying the manager about the broken toilet and the continued presence of roaches, the issues were not resolved promptly. The room was not properly cleaned throughout my stay. Breakfast: The continental breakfast was a complete joke. At 7:15 AM, the offerings were extremely limited: Limited Food: Only four pieces of toast were available. Missing Items: There was no juice initially (the employee forgot the syrup, resulting in watered-down apple juice), no yogurt, and limited cereal options. Broken Equipment: The waffle machine broke while I was trying to use it. Other Issues: The cappuccino machine had no milk and dispensed a foul-tasting beverage that others also discarded. No fruit was available. Parking Lot Concerns: In addition to the issues with the room and service, the parking lot also raised concerns. An SUV with two flat tires and busted-out windows has been parked in front of room 156. While the general area doesn't feel unsafe, there were individuals who did not appear to be guests walking around the parking lot at night, which was slightly unsettling. Overall: My stay at this Days Inn at 11002 NW Freeway, Houston, TX was a truly awful experience. The combination of unsanitary conditions, broken amenities, poor service, and parking lot concerns made it a complete disaster. The renovations are clearly superficial and do not address the core problems of this property. I had to spend $90 out of pocket at Walmart for bedding, sanitizer, Febreze, cleaner, and roach spray just to make the room somewhat habitable. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. This property needs a complete overhaul and significant improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and management. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone. I WANT MY MONEY I SPENT REFUNDED AND MY...
Read moreI had the misfortune of staying at this Days Inn for just one night, and it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. This hotel is located right off the highway, which means you will hear loud traffic noise all night long. But that's not the worst part.
At around 9:30 pm on a Thursday, we heard the sound of kids playing outside our room in the parking area. We called the front desk to ask that they tell the guests to quiet down their kids, as this was supposed to be quiet time. The kids quieted down after about a half hour, but then the parents started speaking loudly, as if drunk. We peeked through our window and noticed them drinking outside. The male was speaking in a loud thick European tone, and we could hear them even with the window closed. The loud chatter between the man and the woman continued outside until 2 a.m! We couldn't believe the front desk took no action to silence them.
To add insult to injury, we heard a hissing sound outside, which turned out to be someone tampering with one of our tires. I found out the next morning that one of our brand-new tires had been deflated to only 10 lbs pressure! The hissing sound I heard the night before was actually someone releasing air from my tire. I strongly suspect it was the people who were making noise all night. I believe the hotel manager may have told them it was us who complained about their noisy kids, and these evil people took it out on us by attempting to deflate our tires!
What's worse, as we were leaving the premises, the same man who had made noise all night was up early, staring at us as we left. It was a chilling experience that left us feeling violated and scared.
It was a terrifying experience, and it showed us the dangers of staying at a hotel like this. The noise and security issues that plague this property make it an undesirable place to stay.
The room itself was clean, but it had a heavy hotel room odor. The pillows were small and lacked any support, making it difficult to fall asleep. The mattress was not firm either, which added to the discomfort of our stay. It's also worth mentioning that the noise from the highway and rowdy guests makes it impossible to get any rest.
It pains me to write this review. But future guests should be aware of my experience before choosing to stay here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The noisy guests, lack of security and the danger of having people like those who deflated our tire staying next to you make this hotel a scary place to stay. The highway noise and the uncomfortable pillows and mattress are just added issues. Please avoid this hotel...
Read moreIf you are considering this hotel for your accommodation needs while in Houston, before you jump on the defamatory & libelous bandwagon, remember that it is also a family's home, one that overcame oppressive odds to make the US of A their new nation & invested every thing they had including their heart & soul just for a chance at the American dream. Several if not all members of the family live/work onsite in order to keep their little hotel-that -could afloat. Irrespective of how "much" (between $30-$79/night) you pay for your stay, these hardworking, honest, & respectful/courteous folks contribute priceless time, sweat, & tears into working with what they were blessed to share with you a place, if only temporary, that you too can call home. My childhood home was a dilapidated (2bd/1bth) "single-family" home for our extended anything but singular fambam of 12-14 members, which we struggled to pay $2500 mortgage each month. And guess what? --at $84/day we are also were required to fend off the occasional pest, bug, odor, or noise & didnt have the luxury of simply raise our noses, scoffing at the owners, & self-righteously demanding perfection---or else! As our home, we took pride in it & swiftly stepped-up to eradicate any minor annoyance ourselves first. And did more with less, as we understood that as much as we were burdened & shocked by its sticker price, we living in South Central LA had no other option any less expensive & were grateful for the shabby yet no less a home than the luxury ones, that our little casita-that-could provided for all of us.
Kudos to "Ro", the front desk agent that was of service to me. He was friendly, professional, efficient and assigned me a room that was clean, spacious, working mini fridge/micro combo & HVAC unit, with "dated" yet comfy furniture...oh about the one roach I encountered? rather than photographing & displaying it to the world as a trophy, I spared its life by placing one the plastic wrapped sanitized cups & escorting to the dumpster on-site. yeeeeeHaw! I luv...
