Let me start with this was an inexpensive hotel so we did not have huge hopes but this completely blew it out of the water in a bad way! The good was that the room was clean. The shower was especially clean and there were some updates to make the room look nice. Now for the bad... First off, the water pressure was TERRIBLE the shower, I was not certain I would ever get the conditioner out of my hair but thankfully the provided conditioner was terrible so I didn't have to worry about that. We are not certain if my husband's towel was clean or not (it had yellow and brown spots on it), there was only one bar of soap and it was in the bathroom, so no soap for the sink, the room was much smaller than the pictures made it look. When the AC turns on, it sounded so much like an airplane, my two year old kept saying Airplane??? Where airplane?? We also had a very hard time getting the tv to work. There are no directions, just a remote. Finally we moved the dresser away from the wall and saw that the plug was so loose that I had to basically balance it perfectly for it to work. Then you had to switch inputs to get to the correct HDMI cord. Also, the floor was not level so the drawers in the dresser would open randomly. We definitely smelled weed in the hallway when we came back around 9. While the hotel is dog friendly, there was so little grass inside the fence there was not too much area for a dog to do its business. There is a large grass area outside the hotel's fence but it is not somewhere I would have gone after dark. And lastly but most importantly, around 10:30 pm my husband went down stairs to walk the dog. The hotel employee asked my husband if we were in a certain room. He told him that was our room and the employee asked if we had found anything in the drawers. My husband said we had not. We also knew for certain that the drawers were empty since the uneven floors made all the drawers randomly come open so we had seen in all of them. The employee then asked my husband if he could come up and look for himself. Apparently the guests who stayed in our room the previous night said they had left something. My husband said no, since our two small children were already asleep. He then asked if the previous guests could come up and check when they got to the hotel. My husband again said no, since the kids were asleep. We thought that was it. However, all the sudden, at 11:40 PM, we heard a quiet knock. We heard it again slightly harder. My husband and dog opened the door. It was a different hotel employee with 4 young teenagers. He asked my husband if he could come in and look for the item that was supposedly left in our room. My husband again (getting frustrated now) said no. One of the teenagers asked my husband if he would check again. (We still had no idea what the item was but I was assuming it must be something of great value since the hotel employee thought it was important enough to WAKE US UP to look for it). By this point, I was so frustrated, I walked to the door myself and asked the young girl to come in and look herself but to not wake up my kids. She came in very quiet and respectfully and looked for the item (which I found out later was a PHONE CHARGER 🤬🤬🤬🤬). The girl quickly reported to her friends that the item was not there. The employee apologized about the situation. My husband and I were just BAFFLED that it actually happened. The next morning, I spoke with the manager and he gave us $50 worth of Wyndam points (we booked through Expedia and he supposedly could not give us an actual refund, but I will be calling Expedia to confirm that). Over all this is NOT a place I would stay again, if ANYWHERE else...
Read moreStayed 4 days. My group (Robotics Team) with 8-10 rooms will never book a La Quinta again. I reserved my 10 rooms way in advanced. Was told by others that they lose reservations and give rooms away. Confirmed 3/27 and reduced to 8 rooms. Then called again 4/9 and rooms were no where in the system to be found. Had to rebook our 8 rooms. When checking in asked if could open breakfast 30 min early, lady said shouldn’t be a problem but had to confirm with management. (Understandable). That afternoon I came to confirm again, new woman said shouldn’t be an issue, called management to confirm previous confirmation , said I would have to come back to tell Christian when he comes in at 10. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? You can’t leave a note!! Overhearing the phone conversation , I piece together that Christian is “not the ideal employee”. I talk to Christian, when he comes in. Said he could not do that. They have never opened breakfast early for someone. I told him management had already confirmed. He said he would have to call management and would get back to me. He calls and says he can set breakfast out, but if something runs out he can’t restock it so we get what is out there. I say that is fine. Breakfast was fine. Just simple continental breakfast. I remind Christian the next day for early breakfast. You can tell by his body language and attitude that he feels he shouldn’t have to do it. My team is holding a business meeting in the breakfast area, Christian kicks us out at 10pm because it is closed. So we go 6 feet to lobby. He then kicks us out at 10:30. We are a group having a meeting. Not kids running around playing. I ask if we can stay, he says no, no one is allowed in lobby at night. We have been doing this for 13 years and NEVER experienced something like this in all the hotels we stay at. Beds are NOT like what you see in the pictures. They are twin to full size. On my morning of check out, I go to front desk to ask for copy of my receipts for all my rooms. Christian said “you will get it when you check out”. I told him, “I am checking out”. All other hotels have you checked out and ready, I had to stand at counter for over 10 min waiting on check out. We will never look at La Quinta for overnight...
Read moreFor starters I’m a travel healthcare worker and I booked here, before coming to Houston. The outside smells like urine, but hey it’s outside right! The lobby smells like old dirty mop rags. The first room I was given, on the first floor, was filthy! The bath tub was dirty with hair in it, the toilet had hair on it, the floor had bugs and nuts on it, and the window shade was duct taped together! When I asked for a new room I was given one on fourth floor opposite end of hotel. I walked in and it appeared to be ok, until I went in the bathroom and there was long hair on the floor in there as well. There was stuff on the shower walls and stuck on nail polish or something on the tub. Being 1 am I just sucked it up because I had to be at work at 6am. When I got off and walked into the new room there were roaches on the sink scattering after I turned the light on. There was also baby roaches crawling on the night stand. There was also some spider crawling on the tv stand. I was never able to speak with the owner. I was told he would be giving me a partial refund. Although I don’t think that was sufficient I didn’t argue. But instead of getting a refund he charged me again for the full price AGAIN! With no refund insight. When I called the owner still wouldn’t speak with me, because he was in a “meeting” the only thing offered was to correct the issue. I have nothing as of now via email equally I have to stay longer than expected and my money is tied up in the worst hotel ever! DO NOT BOOK HERE‼️‼️ the desk staff was...
