*UPDATE: It's been nearly a year since I made this review and I decided to visit the drive through to order a drink, but they still don't take card! Cash only! How have they still not fixed their card system by now? Honestly... is this location a front!?
Original review over 11 months ago: I've been very patient with this slow location over the past couple years, but the service has gotten so bad, I have to write a bad review. The food/drinks are good when you get them, but the past three times I've gone to this location, I haven't been able to get anything.
The intercom system was down for an unreasonably long time. A little bit ago, I arrived at the still broken intercom AND their card system was down, so they only took cash. I had to wait in the slow drive through line to get to the window just to go back and forth with the drive through lady to see what arrangement of items I could fit within the limited cash I had. At least the lady at the window was patient and nice. I went back again shortly after that expecting their card system to have been fixed. Nope. Still broken. Couldn't order cause I didn't have cash.
Last week, I drove up, got to the finally fixed intercom just to be told that their entire system was down so they weren't taking orders. How are you open if you're not even taking orders? What a joke.
Just now went in to get a simple Oreo shake. Went into a stall, seeing a few other cars were in stalls and over the course of the FIFTEEN MINUTES I waited in my stall after having pressed the order button that was now flashing, I saw employees come out two or three times delivering orders to other cars. After that fifteen minutes, I just went to Chick Fil A and got an Oreo shake in less than two minutes.
If you want to go to Sonic, avoid this specific location like the plague....
Read moreSo I ordered 3 oreo Sonic blasts. 1 mini and 2 small. The lady who charged me is called Rosa, a white senior lady with glasses. After 15 minutes of waiting after she charged me, she handed me my 3 orders. It was just vanilla ice cream in these cups! I looked at her and thought maybe the oreos were hiding in the ice cream? So I took my time to grab my spoon and check to see if it had any oreos and it didn't. I called her again and told her if she could put oreos and she had the audacity to say they were in there !!! I'm like, you freaking kidding, I'm not stupid theirs nothing in here, but vanilla ice cream. She gave me attitude and left. The rest of the staff was just staring at me like I was the one over reacting. I saw some Hispanic staff and told them in spanish come look at my ice cream and tell me where the oreos are at?! Until this man kindly came to see what was going on. He said he was going to take care of me but just gave the same lady my orders and I waited 10 more minutes because she was ignoring my order. She literally just put, not even crumbled oreos, a scoop of almost full size oreos on top of my ice cream. No whip cream no blending nothing. Never again!!! Horrible customer service. They are incredibly slow (20+ minute wait times with 2-3 other vehicles in the drive-thru/stalls), they get the order wrong 99% of the time, and they're also super, super rude. Don't expect any help from Sonic support, either. It sucks, because I really love their chicken slingers.
Edit: Still horrendous service. Placed an order on the app, it took over 45 minutes to get my food from when I placed the order. I checked in at a stall when I arrived per the app instructions, and almost 20 minutes later, the screen finally said someone was on their way out to my car with my order. After 5 more minutes, I pressed the red button to ask them what's going on, and was told I had to either go through the drive-thru or go to the front to collect my food. If I wouldn't have pressed the red button, they would have let me sit there forever. I understand this is right after the Beryl power outages, but I went to multiple other fast food restaurants while a whole lot more of the city was out of power, and the longest I had to wait was 20 minutes in a drive thru line.
