So this was our second time at this restaurant. We had a really great experience with the food and service the first time we went. Now this time around something was a bit off. My mother and I both ordered la tampiqueña platter. It sounded good on the menu but once we got the food something was not right. Something tasted sour on the plate. We were trying to figure it out. I'm pretty sure that it was the red enchilada sauce. It had a very strong "sour" taste to it. Maybe they cut it with some kind of tomato sauce. I don't think there was much chille in it. We mentioned it to the waitress but she seemed unsure about what we were saying. So I don't know if it had gone bad or if that's what it's supposed to taste like. Needless to say I didn't finish my food. For $21, that plate was not worth the price. I also ordered flautas to go for my husband. They weren't like traditional flautas where you have shredded or even grilled chicken. It was almost like a chicken paté?? I think it might have been mixed with cheese. Not sure. But it wasn't very good. The refried beans also tasted like bean dip. My sister got the grilled shrimp tacos which she said we're pretty good. The charro beans were also good. When we looked around the restaurant it seemed most people were ordering fajitas and tacos so if you go I would probably stick to that. I also had the menudo last time we were there and it was pretty good so I hope that didn't change. For $82 it was not worth the money. There are way better Mexican restaurants in the area. Plus for the same price you could go to Alma Latina down Shepherd and have some really good food. Definitely will not be back.

Read moreDON'T WAIST YOUR TIME! SO Many other better choices! Went to check it out after seeing review. Went on Monday at 1:20pm. Only two other tables at that time. Wattress was friendly and quickly took order. I ordered crispy ground beef taco dinner. I was informed no crispy tacos just flour or corn. Ordered ground beef corn tortillas. What I got was not ground beef but way overcooked cheap fajita meat. Not what I ordered. When I complained to the waiters she argued with me that I didn't order ground beef. She said we don't have ground beef. If she would have told me that in the beginning there wouldn't have been a problem. LISTEN to your customers! Anyway the tacos are DRY OVERCOOKES MEAT. The rice has no flavor very bland. Try somewhere else you'll be...
Read moreIf you like Mexican food rich in flavor and not bland.. then I highly recommend this restaurant. The kitchen and the presentation is a notch above here over the standard... But with still the standard price. Key standards they excelled at: Queso is thick and creamy with fine bits of vegetable seasoning. Guacamole was exceptionally fresh and crisp. Salsa is a well blended savory and warm sensational masterpiece. And if you like Mole Sauce... There's is a rich and mildly sweet delight. There was not a moment of our experience that I could reflect negatively upon. And the frozen margarita's were spot on. I don't leave reviews often... But this place definitely grabbed my attention as we've been looking for a new Mexican restaurant.... This will be our new...
