By far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’ve stayed in motels better and more cleanly than this.
The hotel is indeed under major internal renovations. But the renovations have little to do with the issues I have with this hotel.
Allow me to walk you through this nightmare.
When we booked this hotel, it was listed as a Quality Inn. When we arrive, it’s an Econo Lodge.
Upon entering the hotel, there are drenched dirty rags strewn in the middle of the entrance that we had to step over. The whole first floor is out of commission. We find out that because of the renovations there’s no complimentary breakfast and that the elevators are down. Our mother is handicapped. The best they could offer was a room on the second floor. *Come to find out the elevators have been out of order for AT LEAST a month and it has nothing to do with the renovations.
We booked 3 rooms. Our entire room is damp. And I do mean the entire room. The air felt wet, like a sauna might right after turning off the steam. And it smelled like a bathroom. Not a pee or poop smell, but that stale plumbing kind of smell. The WORST of it-the carpet, upon removing my socks, felt slimy! The bathroom floor was also slick. The bedding felt like they took it out of the dryer just 20-30 minutes too soon. The couch felt wet. The phone in the first room was so disgusting, dingy, grimy, I could not in good conscience, touch it.
We asked for a new room and they gave us one that was only slightly better. No slimy floors. No smell. But the bedding and the air feels the same, damp and icky. Gonna be great sleeping in this tonight!!
The sheet has black smudges/stains on it. The comforter (in BOTH rooms) has holes from cigarette burns. Despite being in non-smoking rooms. I called to ask for a new sheet and an extra pillow. He tells me it’s going to be a while. I wait an hour. I call back and he apologizes saying he has to search for them because he doesn’t know where to find them. I tell him to forget it, I need to go to sleep. I try to just flip the sheet, but there are stains on the opposite end too! So I just yanked it off the bed. Even with all the lamps turned on, it is so poorly lit in here. There’s mold above the bathroom mirror. And stains on the couch cushions. Part of the window drapes are dangling off the brackets. Our family in the other room has a hole in the wall. The door handle of the door leading into the next room was broken. Meaning the neighbors could walk in at anytime. The other room has mold all over the walls. Surrounding the light switch, all around the bathroom mirror, and there was this massive black moldy hole in the wall FULL of mold.
It smells like smoke and weed in the hall.
Bafflingly horrid place. Bafflingly horrid.
Omg...this suuuuuuuuuucks! If we hadn't arrived so late, we would have absolutely found a new place to stay.
UPDATE 8.3.2018: I woke up this following morning to find only God knows what kind of massive stain on the underside of my pillow. I slept on this thing all night!!! AND a bed bug just crawled out from under that same pillow. (Refer to the pics)
We are ABSOLUTELY checking out of here! We were going to stay two nights. NOPE!
UPDATE 8.3.2018: Attempts to contact the manager have been the result of a true run-around. When checking out the manager was not there but we were told would be in later. We called back later and were told that the manager wouldn't be in until tomorrow. And the person on the phone also asked for us to send photos of the rooms as if to suggest we're lying, and I get a sense they were trying to feel us out to see if we had proof in case they could just get away with keeping our money and calling us liars. We will be contesting this with the credit card company and we will be reporting this business to every single outlet we can find. It should honestly be shut down. With that many health hazards. It's probably a front for something illegal. That's the only thing that...
Read moreTo start I checked in on Friday and the young man that checked me in was very nice and apologetic but that is where anything good to say ends. I had to change rooms twice once I checked in, the first time was because I was given a single bed rather than the double bed requested. This was not a big problem for me though, I just went down stairs and picked up another card. Now we enter the second room and as we walk in we were greeted by this very huge bug sitting on one of the beds, I have never seen this type of bug before so I can not tell you what it was. My children went running out of the room refusing to stay in the room of course. So I tried to call down to the front desk to let him know but there was no phone inside the room. I went downstairs to let him know and showed him the pictures of it and also the pictures of the very dirty comforter on the bed. He gave me a card to another room. Needless to say this room was worse than the second one but bug free at least. The curtain was broken and hanging, the stick to open and close them was laying on top of the air conditioner unit. The mirror that was suppose to be on the wall like in the other rooms was removed from the wall. There were patches in the walls from where I guess holes were fixed. The lamps on the desk were very rusted and shades dirty. The fan cover in the bathroom was hanging down the wall exposing the hole inside the wall. The bathroom walls and floors were dirty and molded. The shower head was extremely rusted. The bed linens were dirty even after being changed!! There are 2 elevators here and only 1 work and it feels as if it is going to just break and drop each time it stops at a floor. My children for whatever reason wanted to try breakfast the first morning we were there, so I did. Biggest mistake of the entire stay. The breakfast consisted of old muffins, bread, and mini donuts, cereal in broken containers, milk in a metal container (have no idea what kind) and waffles in a whopped sided waffle maker. The juice maker was empty but the lady working the breakfast area put containers in after we informed her. My daughter got a cup and poured herself some juice shortly afterwards and because the cups were stuck together she had 2 cups. This lady grabbed the cups out of my daughters hand and told her you have 2 cups and attempted to to pull the cups apart at the mouth area of the cups. Now at this time I am completely sure I am on a hidden camera show because all of this can not just be happening. So I grabs the cup back and tell her not to ever snatch anything out of anyone's hands especially their child's. Then I grabbed another cup for my daughter to get her some more juice and explain to the lady that it was very nasty for her to put her fingers all over the part of the cup my daughter has to drink from. She tells me it is "OK" and then walks off. Shortly after she comes out of a back room and raises the trashcan top and begin to get something out the trash. After that I was over and done and ready to go. If I had not already prepaid for my room and had money to go to another hotel I would have. I wish I could post pictures here because I have pictures of everything including the gross looking very big bug!! This hotel needs to be closed down until they are ready to operate in a proper matter. I am very upset that I spent my money to stay in this horrible hotel!! I have frequent stays in hotels for personal and business reasons and this has by far been the most...
Read moreThis stay was on July 24, 2015:
Quality Inn on there commercials ask the question should I stay or should I go? I would have gone, but I had booked an advance reservation that was non-refundable. In a search of the hotel after my admin had booked the hotel I was aware of the cabaret that was in the same parking lot.
When we checked in we were given the room key and when we went to the room, it looked that somebody was still in the room. There were dirty socks, a pack of cigarettes and some dirty cups. We immediately went down to the front desk and the front desk clerk Will assigned us another room.
We stayed at this property for 4 days. The biggest problem that they have is that housekeeping is lacking. On the first and the last day when we came if from being out for the day found the cleaning rags that were used to clean the room. The parking lot also needs attention.
It is posted as you walk in that "To Excuse the mess they are remodeling " but being dirty is not. When you step into the elevator one of the things that I noticed was the button for the alarm bell is missing including the certificate that is supposed to be posted in every elevator (or the location where it can be found) in the state of Texas. As you step off the elevator, I stayed on the 6th floor, you notice that the hallway is very warm and the carpet is in the need of cleaning.
In the room itself, the overall appearance looked presentable until you really look. On the wall just past the desk, the wall has been partially patched. The wall behind the chair in the sitting area the paint is chipped. In the bathroom again the overall appearance looks good. But look at the spout at the tub and the tile is cracked and dirty.
Again to reiterate, the property is under renovation but I want to make 2 points. (1) According to the reviews this property has been under renovation for more than a year and this is not a large hotel (100 rooms) and (2) You want to make sure that if you are lacking in one area such as a renovation you make sure that you excel in customer service and the cleanliness of the property
The hotel did offer a continental breakfast which I did not take advantage of for obvious reasons.
Now in all fairness I spoke with the General Manager of this property and in talking with him he seemed unconcerned. As I spoke with him he put his head down and started doing something else. I am sure after this review I probably will be put on their no rent list however, I do not plan to stay at this...
