I’ve stayed at this hotel several times and have always appreciated the service, which is why this particular experience was frankly unsettling.
Each night during previous stays, I’ve kindly requested two bottles of water from the front desk before going to bed, and the staff has always provided them without issue. This time, however, I encountered an employee I had never seen before. When I asked for the same water, she informed me that they were now $2.50 each. While I understand if a policy has changed, her tone was cold and unwelcoming.
I decided not to get the water and stepped outside to my truck. When I returned, she opened the door for me. As I was walking toward the elevator, the same employee suddenly called out my first name loudly, saying, “Josefina, you can use your key whenever entering.” Not only was her tone unnecessary, but she said it loudly enough that two other guests turned to look. It felt invasive and inappropriate — especially considering that we had no prior interaction that would justify her using my first name in such a public and casual manner.
I don’t know if she was upset about having to open the door for me, but regardless, it felt disrespectful and unprofessional.
This incident happened last night , between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on April 23, 2025.
Let me be clear: the issue is not about the cost of the water. It is about the employee’s tone, the public calling of my name, and her dismissive attitude left a lasting negative impression. I’ve always chosen this hotel because of the comfort and respect I’ve experienced in the past, but this incident made me question whether those values are still being upheld consistently...
Read moreI travel to Houston often to visit my family. Every time I’m in town Hampton Inn I-10 East is my Hotel of choice. The rooms are clean and it’s close to family. We have visited this hotel multiple times a year, the manager even recognizes us when we check in. That a nice feeling. However there is a staff member that is absolutely the WORST. Myra attitude is absolutely hands down the WORST employee they have. No welcoming attitude, doesn’t smile when she greet you, speak very fast when explaining the amenities. She is hands down RUDE. I really like this place but her attitude to really pushing us away. During our last stay 12/19 I came in to book a room and you guess it Myra was at the front desk. I tried having a conversation with her and even complemented on how beautiful the Christmas tree was. She NOT one time said THANK YOU or welcome to Hampton Inn or Thank me for the compliment. All she said was “can I help you “. Long story short, I booked my stay and left. My fiancé came in shortly after I left out to use the facilities. He asked Myra where the restrooms are and she completely ignored him. I mean she didn’t point, didn’t say, didn’t direct him at all. He had to locate it himself. One thing for sure. You can have the nicest hotel in the area and the majority of your staff can be friendly and kind. But when you have ONE bad Apple it can spoil your entire team. Lastly for the record when we returned that night from visiting our mother. Myra was sitting in the front talking to someone. I really hated seeing her at the front desk because I was happy from visiting family and I didn’t was her BAD attitude to...
Read moreThe hotel itself is new, updated, and very clean- parking lot, lobby, breakfast area, hallways, elevators, rooms and bathrooms. The hotel was very quiet and we had a very comfortable, enjoyable stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. In regards to some reviews saying the area is sketchy, I would disagree. The parking lot and hotel has a fence around most of the property making it feel safe and secure. There’s also a police officer on duty at night. We traveled with 3 young kids and never felt unsafe. The area itself looks a bit rundown but the hotel was great. Food choices around the area are limited- a Chili’s, McDonald’s, and a few local Mexican restaurants. We were able to find a nice Jason’s Deli nearby since we didn’t want heavy, fast food. The hotel is conveniently located just off I-10 which made getting to places very easy. It was about a 20-25 minutes drive to most attractions like the zoo, children’s museum, downtown aquarium, depending on traffic. The morning breakfast was pretty great with lots of choices. I would stay here again based on the very clean rooms and the affordable price. My only complaint was that we were told the outdoor pool was heated so we packed swimsuits. It was not heated and freezing cold (we travelled in March). The hot tub was...
