Tepatitlán Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Houston

Let me tell you, this is one of my favorite restaurants but today we ordered a Torta de fajita, sad... very little fajita and it was burnt!! I normally couldn't eat this by myself cause its to big. Nope, I could of ate this by myself this time! I ask the waitress which was very nice, I told her I did not want this, fajita is burnt and hardly any. We ordered something else. She took it back and I guess the kitchen or who ever was the manager got mad about it so, she came back and said to us that that's the way the torta comes! I told her no, it was not like that before. Told her there is more bread than meat. So we were told that they are GOING TO CHARGE US FOR THE TORTA even if we don't eat it!!! Are you kidding me? I was blown away by that. No restaurant I've ever been to will ask you to pay for something you don't want to eat!!!!!!! So instead of making a scene, I asked if they could put more meat and will eat it. Lol....smh... they supposedly " made another one" they flatten the bread on purpose because i said it was too much bread. I love the bread but put more meat. It was loaded with beans, about a table spoon of quac. It sucked!! They wanna raise prices, I get that but you do not get what you pay for. Wish I would of taken a pic to show ya'll. I still can't get over it that they were gonna charge us even if we didn't eat it. So I sucked it up and ate it. Thinking it was gonna be better and it wasn't. We should of just payed for the drinks and left but that's not the kind of person I am. To make a customer pay for something that they don't like is bullying. You want customers to be happy don't treat them...

Had not been to this location before but won’t be back. The food was old and salty. My daughter wanted soup and this is where we know it can found and it is usually decent. At least (the food) at the federal location. Last time we visited the federal location was the last (11/2023) due to horrible service. Fortunately the food was always great there, but I vowed to not patron this company ever again.

I only gave it a chance tonight because my she wanted soup and we know it was possible available and decent here.

For many years, We frequented the federal location weekly and spent hundreds or close to it, every time we would go. Their loss. We definitely won’t be back here again either.

Her soup was ok. The quesadilla was greasy and salty and rice and beans were bad, old.

It was also empty at 10:30pm on a Saturday . Says a lot.

Do some research and do better. Just because I won’t be back doesn’t mean you can’t improve for the rest of the clients you still have. Would hate to see you close because of not checking the reasons you are losing patrons and...

I thought the service was good until it was time to pay it was four of us that went to go eat we all had separate tickets except my oldest son payed for my middle child who is 21 my daughter said mom I'm going to the restroom then I'm going to go paying said ok then we waited for to come back to the table because she had my four month old granddaughter with her .She came back and we took our tickets up front at the register to pay .To make a long story short after we paid and we got in our cars the waitress along with the cashier came out side because the cashier accused us of not paying our ticket she said one ticket was not paidj.I told my kids to pull out our receipt. Which we did then she oh I'm so sorry. I told her no sorry doesntdcut it you just accused us of stealing basically and I usually for give people but it was very embarrassing to my family and humiliating.But it didn't stop there I left a tip my daughter said when they were walking back inside both the cashier and the waitress were laughing thinking...
