Nick and Joe were so pleasant and very professional! Check in went smoothly and timely. I didn’t get a chance to meet the night auditor to get his name however, when I came downstairs to get a beverage from the cooler he spoke very kindly as he was checking another family in. He did speak to me and ask me my room to charge the drink to the correct room. Our room was clean and cool when we arrived. Fresh towels and the room smelled great. The elevator was super clean too… nice to see. The water pressure is amazing and the towels were so plush and nice. The parking lot near the pool had broken glass in the parking lot. I mentioned it to morning staff. The “hot tub” wasn’t working we were told however., we did see several people in it after we left the pool area. Our room was at the end of the building where the pool was. That’s how we saw them in there. Breakfast fell a little short of expectation. There were no pastries. Just bread and plain bagels. The waffle maker was broken and not working and didn’t seem to have any substitute. The gravy seemed watered down. The oatmeal was “plain or unflavored”. The only thing for the bagel was butter. There were only apples for fruit. The “hot chocolate” powder was in the oatmeal bowl for serving. The coffee seemed old. Was not hot just luke warm- prior to creamer! The breakfast area was clean and very pleasant and well taken care of. I guess I had higher expectations for the breakfast area based on other stays I have had within same LaQuinta chain. The breakfast attendant didn’t speak to anyone, just refilled items and left the area. The laundry room was the worst area I found while staying here. It’s $2 for a wash and $2 to dry in machines that look like this. I was highly upset to see them looking like this! Housekeeping has neglected this area for some time… the room smells horrendous and...
Read moreVery disappointed. For starters, everything is closed. (meeting room, bathrooms, breakfast area, fitness room, computer room, pool was drianed.)
The room: Bed was clean I suppose, although very uncomfortable. Furniture had pieces of wood missing. Scratches on the walls while holes were covered with mismatch paint. The room is missing a nightstand. (Front desk said that was normal, but room pictures from guests show two nightstands.) No coffee table.
The service: When we brought up the damages/missing Furniture in the room and told them we didnt want to be held accountable as they were there when we entered the room. They responded saying "well our rooms with pets are all like that because of the damages the pets have caused." Pretty much meaning because we have pets we get the less than rooms with less than furniture. Even though we pay more for having pets. when asked for a new room we were told that they couldnt do it, only the manager could and we would have to wait.
Update: the front desk is useless every night. they ask you 20 questions if you want a clean towel.
laundry was 1.50 per wash and dry (45mins). Dryer takes two times to fully dry something.. i put in extra quarters so it would be fully dry. when i came back to pick up my clothes someone opened the dryer door so my clothes were still soaking wet. I went to the front desk and they said they couldn't do anything about it. not even offer a refund. I asked him to look at the cameras and he said he didn't have access to the camera that i would have to wait till tomorrow for the manager to come in.
the takeaway: there is never a manager onduty. front desk workers are clueless. hotel is a absolute mess and disgusting, and for $100+ a night not worth the...
Read moreMy husband and I recently stayed at La Quinta, and unfortunately, it was not a great experience.
The good: The front desk staff were very polite and welcoming. The gentleman who checked us in was great — I believe he even upgraded us to a larger room, which was very kind. The hotel itself smelled clean, and we often saw staff actively cleaning floors and rooms. The noise level was low, and breakfast was decent (though it ends promptly at 10 a.m.).
The bad: Our room (318) had a serious safety issue — the door didn’t latch properly. You could literally push it open from the outside without using a key. Even from the inside, it took a lot of force to get it to close and lock securely. If my husband hadn’t been with me, I honestly don’t think I would’ve been able to get it latched on my own. Because of that, we had to take all our valuables with us whenever we left, which was a big inconvenience.
The A/C wasn’t great, and the elevator was downright scary — it jolted and made noises that made us nervous every time we got on or off. We could’ve used the stairs, but my husband can’t really manage multiple flights up to the third floor.
We also found out the only working ice machine was on the fourth floor, so we had to go up there every time we needed ice. I noticed the gym, but it was very small, and we didn’t use it.
The location also doesn’t have many food options nearby, so we ended up driving into Dallas for meals.
Overall, while the staff were friendly and hardworking, the condition of the room — especially the faulty door — made us feel unsafe. That alone would make me think twice about...
