Dairy Queen — Restaurant in Hutchins

These good reviews have to be fake! I live in Hutchins, moved there 3yr ago with the new housing development, coming from Oakcliff where a Dairy Queen was in my neighborhood, i loved dairy queen! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! They will not fill your containers up, drink included! When you ask them whats up they start talking to you in Oz.’s….management is rude & the make u pull behind the diner for what seems like eternity! When i moved to Hutchins i went to the DQ like once a week, that eventually went to once a year 🤣🤣🤣 On 3/1/23 i came thru the drive thru, speaker was barely working & was asked to pull forward . Ordered nacho deluxe w/ beverage , ( sides package separately to prevent the chips from getting soggy) a extra cheese & a extra beef taco meat, coke easy ice & Blizzard w/ cheesecake chunks (that was actually good)! I paid and pulled behind the diner to play the waiting game. They are severely understaffed! About 11 mins later the same lady that took my order at the window, brought my order out to me. Like why dont they have a bag runner? I did notice that she had a line, so hopefully someone took her place. Anywho, i knew immediately to check my bag… noticed my extra meat was missing, so since it was that nasty taco meat, i had to CLEARLY show her that it was missing, i also notice that i had only a few chips in my container, no more than about 20 chips, accompanied by the fact that my one meat that i did have was only half full in the container, cheese sauce the same. When i showed it to her she went to saying some ounces stuff, when i showed her the chips she said the same thing, but when i showed her the salsa container that was so full it was spilling out, she had no explanation for that, not to mention drink was full ice, & blizzard was brought out w/o a lid. I was like whatever, she left to ho het my other meat. Now heres the kicker, about 4 mins later a lady walked out that put me in the mind of Shirley from What’s Happening almost a splitting image. She was in what i would assume to be a managers uniform… i was like cool ill bring everything to her attention and she will make it right. I couldn’t have been more wrong! She brought my missing extra taco beef with less in the container than the first one🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ when i said something to her about it, she began talking ounces & spoonfulls & said if i had gotten everything together it would look like more 🤔. She spoke in a matter- of - factly, manner! I explained to her that stuff like this is why I stayed away for a year and lived around the corner. I would go to the Oakcliff location or the Grand Prairie location by my job… like i said i love Dairy Queen.. i didn’t write them off because of one bad store! Last time i went to this Hutchins location, me & my bf stopped for tacos, they were soooooo greasy that the grease ran thru the cracks of the box with the liner and ruined my outfit, we was on our way somewhere & i made a vow that day never to come back, but i fell weak yesterday & this is what happened. Im calling...

While the food was good, the service was lacking - not worth the hassle. The order taker at the drive thru mumbled such that her speech was indecipherable and she keyed the order incorrectly. She turned over the order to a coworker to process payment. I attempted to use a gift card that had a remaining balance from a previous purchase, but was told it didn't work after one attempt to swipe and no attempt at manual entry. The credit card receipt revealed the incorrect order and instead of fixing it n the system and refunding the difference, the worker just gave me a larger sized blizzard, which he failed to turn upside down. I ordered small portions for a reason. He asked me to pull around, so I waited at the end of the drive thru where the 'please stop here' sign was located. A third worker brought out my food and started to walk away when I realized my drink was missing. When I waved her down, she yelled for me to move my car to a space closer to the door so she didn't have to walk so far. She made and brought the beverage out and by then I was beyond over the experience and delay of my road trip. This has left me seething and I will not return to...

I have one star because I can't give 0. The staff was incredibly rude. The store close at 10 yet at 945 the doors were locked. Got in the drive thru way before closing time. Long line in front of us and once we got to the speaker to order a recording came on telling me they were closed. It was exactly 9:58 when we got that message. There were still 3 cars behind us. They went ahead and took our order at the window however the cars behind us didn't get the same courtesy. After us they put the brace in the window and disappeard into the back. They were the rudest staff I have ever encountered. We sat in line for over 20 minutes only to be told they were closed and they couldn't do anything about it. That is absolutely unacceptable. The whole group should be fired. There was also a woman who had gone thru before us that was missing something from her order. She got out of her vehicle, got into her mobility scooter and drove it around to the drive thru and they were terrible rude to her as well. Absolutely the most amazing thing I've ever seen. If you close at 10 you close at 10, not before. And you serve all the customers that have been waiting....
