We have been going to this lodge since the 80s. Back then for many years it was family owned. By different families, all amazing. A corporation took it over and did a lot of updates and upgrades making the property even better than it was before. There are two differences between now and then. Major ones in my opinion. The first is customer service! Let me be clear that the staff that we interacted with... Kaylee, Trini and Mary were top notch. They were kind, accommodating, super friendly and welcomed us everyday with a smile. The general manager, Erin, who claims to have been here for the last 15 years is nothing but a corporate robot. She was not friendly, inviting or a person I would want to do business with again. The other huge topic there was the parking. This has never been an issue in the past. If you are in a bigger unit and require more than one car or have another party with you, you are instructed to park either On the busy highway or in the Safeway parking lot which I'm sure is not legal overnight. To top that off, there is one handicap spot in the entire Lodge. This is not only against State codes but Erin proceeded to tell me that she is aware they are short-handicap spots but there is nothing they can do and will continue to pay the fine. My dad has MS and has a handicap placard and there were several other guests that required wheelchair assistance but again nowhere for them to park. Maybe across the street in the Safeway parking lot. We were there during the off-season and there were plenty of open parking spots. Although these parking spots were not utilized if we put an additional car there, it was so severely tagged taped and plastered all over the windshield. Followed by 100 text messages that went out to the entire Lodge about parking. My suggestion would be if there are any open spots, maybe posting in the office daily the open spots so that other guests that are paying can park their car on the property instead of on public property across the street. The final recommendation was the overwhelming amount of text messages that were sent throughout our week Stay was absolutely ridiculous. Anything more than one text a day to keep the guests updated on the activities they were having is completely unnecessary! This Lodge is more on the expensive side so to have this kind of treatment during our vacation was a little much and I really feel sorry for the timeshare guests that have to deal with this all year long for the amount of money they pay to stay there. Again the property was beautiful and other than having to deal with the parking and Erin I would definitely recommend! Unfortunately I don't see this changing...

My room was downgraded from a 1 bedroom to a studio. The reservation agent was pleasant and offered solutions. However I have not yet received a refund for the room downgrade. Additionally when I arrived and asked Erin, the receptionist, which room I had she immediately fired back I had been placed in the studio. I was given no time to ask questions, had to interrupt go ask about parking, and overall felt I was being chastise throughout the check in process. I am not sure if it's something I did that bothered Erin or if that's her usual mannerism in terms of greeting guests. Erin made sure to point out she had texted me and I hadn't responded (I was driving to get to the lodge) and quickly told me to text back "ACCEPT"- I thought I was consenting to texts instead I realized after the fact that I had to select a link to read the terms and conditions and texting "accept" meant I was accepting the terms. I also proceeded to received varied texts that seened to be aimed at all guests, one stating "we specifically ask that no clothing be hung on your porch" (i hadnt been there for longer than 30 minutes and hadnt even unloaded my car). We were also handed a hard copy terms and conditions sheet which I signed and was writting in the name of my partner fully intending to have him sign for himself. Erin noticed and started telling me I couldn't sign for my partner. I started to explain and she reached across her desk and crossed out my writing while I was mid sentence. Once we got to our room we immediately noticed the lack of ventilation, so we opened all windows. Although outdoors the weather was cool and pleasant since 7pm, the room only cooled down after 2am. The lack of ventilation was unexpected. The bed in the studio was a murphy bed that was uncomfortable such that we were up until 3:30am. My partner and I are use to camping and can usually sleep in varied settings, but we kept sliding into the middle of the bed which had zero support. In the morning my partner twisted his ankle after stepping up next to the banister where there is a gapping hole. Overall the location was wonderful and wished the customer service...

We stayed in RedWolf Lakeside lodge for 1 night, in the 1 bedroom studio. We had a great experience overall

Location

The place is located in North lake tahoe, and is steps away from the lake. There is a private beach access (with views of lake tahoe) directly from the lodge which was awesome. There is a nearby safeway (less than 5 minutes walk) which was really helpful for any quick errands

Cleanliness

When we entered the unit, everything was very well cleaned and sanitized. The kitchen counter tops, and the bathrooms were very fresh, with modern equipments, something that was really helpful with our stay

Unit amenities

We stayed in the 1 bedroom studio. It had a fully furnished kitchen with a 4 burner countertop, had 2 sofas, a small dining table and a single bed. The mattress was a little bumpy, but it was not a major problem for us. The space was perfect for 2 people. Would recommend a bigger unit if traveling with a family

Check in/Check out process

The process was super smooth. Especially with COVID, the management team took great care to ensure everything was contactless. They have a messaging platform and the office could be reached directly via texts. The responses were prompt

Overall, we had an awesome time and a really great stay. We felt super safe especially during COVID. We will definitely return here, and would highly recommend this...

This place is absolutely perfect for a lake getaway! The water is crystal clear, with easy access to the shore and plenty of barbecue areas. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, the kitchen was fully equipped, the grill worked great, and everything was clean and well-kept. Special thanks to the front desk — the lady there was super friendly and helpful. Even our late-night arrival at 2 AM went smoothly: just a quick call to the red phone, we received the code, and picked up our envelope with the keys from a secure box. Very convenient and stress-free. On the resort grounds, right by the lake, there’s a wonderful swimming pool with clean water. In the evening, when it got a little chilly, we relaxed in the warm jacuzzi, then jumped back into the cool pool. It was an incredible experience — all with a stunning view of the mountains, the lake, and the sunset. Absolutely unforgettable. Our stay left only the best impressions. We’ll definitely be back!

We reserved the 2 room 2 bathroom suite, had the option of turning the Futon into a Queen size bed as well, although we didn’t need it but is definitely a great option! The resort has a wonderful view of the lake and from where the suite is located it’s maybe a 20-25 feet walk to the access/view of the lake. Unfortunately we only stayed one night BUT it was definitely worth it! The rooms were perfectly clean, it provided shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the bathrooms, if needed. Extra towels if needed. And the kitchen was perfect to store food and cook for breakfast. The room also provided basic cooking utensils, which is amazing! I fell in love with the morning view! And the suite has a private porch with outside seating to enjoy that morning coffee or to stargaze. I’m hoping we can return to this adorable and beautifully located lodge!
