BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT CREDIT CARD CHARGES
We have eaten at Las Panchitas a few times over the years when we come up to visit King’s Beach. We were handed menus when we walked in. As you walk in, there is a bar that greets you 6 feet from the front door. They were watching an MMA fight so we decided to do takeout as it was more peaceful where we were staying to have dinner. We ordered 2 dinner plates a taco à la cart and chips and salsa to go. The waiter said that it would be a few before we got our order so we decided to sit at the bar and have a beer while we waited.
We drove back to the hotel. Well, Las Panchitas food wasn’t how we remembered it. The portions were really small for the dinner plates. There was sauce all over everything and my wife’s burrito was less than half full. She mentioned that she was still hungry after she ate.
OK, no big deal move on in life. Well no not really…. When we got home, we realized that the restaurant had up charged the bill amount we signed for. We associated that to fraud. We called our credit card company to ask why there was a discrepancy in what we agreed to on the receipt and what they charged us. Our credit card company told us that restaurants add their own tips (it’s a known practice) and that they’ll just give us the money back that the restaurant fraudulently added because it was cheaper than to go after the restaurant for this type of fraud.
That just doesn’t sit well with us.

Read moreBEWARE of this place, they are dishonest. I ordered to-go order from this place, went to pick up my order and they had charged 18% gratuity on my bill. When I questioned them, they said all to-go order or dine in they will charge 18% gratuity on top. I totally disagree. My understanding is gratuity is tips that I pay to server that service me when I dine in. If you are the owner of this place, please change your wording on your bill and train your staffs on how to service customer the right way. Also I had tried to cancel my guava drinks because you don't have enough guava drinks. Please take responsibility and help me cancel instead FORCED me to get other drink instead. At the end when I walked out of the restaurant halfway, the same rude guy told people around him to let them know Bay Area people do not welcome here. How unprofessional are this restaurant. Read moreI rarely ever write a bad review but immediately when we went into the restaurant the hostess was clearly in a bad mood. We got seated and I told her it was our anniversary and I asked her to take a photo for us, where she acted like we were bothering her. Then when we ordered I asked for a tostada with no beans and I said no beans twice because I cannot eat beans. The meal comes out and the bottom of the plate is covered in beans. My husband brings it back to her and she said “it’s not inside” so I could eat it. My husband told me this and I brought the plate back up to where she was at the bar and said, “I asked for no beans and the plate and food is covered in beans”. She said there were no beans inside and that I could eat it…….. I’m just upset. Like I said, I never ever write anything negative but this entire experience, her attitude and all that...
