Lakeside Suites at Hotel California Lake Tahoe — Hotel in Incline Village-Crystal Bay

I didn’t end up staying here so this is a review of the hosts in the booking process. I booked a room months ago when dog fee was $40. Guylene said she would send me the bill closer to the date of our stay in case we change our plans. I reached out a few weeks before our stay to pay the pet fee. Only then did she inform me that it was $100 per dog now, and I would need to pay $200 for my two dogs. She said I would either pay the increased fee or she would cancel the reservation (so I would not pay any fees). I didn’t want to pay the higher pet fee so I asked her to cancel. She did not cancel and wanted me to (I assume it’s because she would have a fee from Airbnb, and wanted me to assume the fees for cancellation). After spending an hour with Airbnb, I was issued a full refund. Would not recommend interacting with a shady host...

Disclaimer: I have not stayed at this property (yet). However, my husband and I had scheduled a stay for late August of this year (this weekend to be exact). Unfortunately, fires were spreading toward Lake Tahoe, and I was reading news of bad air quality and evacuations in South Lake Tahoe. Our activities we had scheduled at the local resorts were canceled due to these recent events, so our trip was suddenly sounding not feasible anymore. I booked through Booking.com, and it was made clear the reservation was non-refundable, but obviously these were unforeseen circumstances. I was so worried we weren’t going to get our money back, but after expressing our concerns, the property waived our cancellation fees and Booking.com is refunding our whole stay. I am so grateful for their understanding, and I look forward to staying here...

Just returned from an amazing weekend here over the 4th of July! The rooms are adorable and have everything you need. The location is prime being just a few steps away from the beach and walking distance to great restaurants all nearby. The hot tub is brand new and was the perfect temperature for an evening relaxation session. There is also an amazing upstairs patio area with a bbq and lounge chairs that we enjoyed sitting at while having a beverage. Although we do not have a dog, I noticed other guests enjoying being allowed to have their fur babies with them with access to the dog friendly beach.
