We stayed here several years ago and had a great experience. This time was a different story. Check in is a nightmare. Rooms were not ready until almost 2 hours past check in time. Because there is only one elevator for the entire complex it took an additional 2 hours to get our belongings to the room. Often people were left waiting because the housekeeping crew had the elevator occupied. Check in needs to be extended to 2 days to avoid the bottleneck. Despite the wait our room was quite dirty. The plus side is it's right on the beach and all rooms have a beach view. People left their tents and chairs on the beach at night and also cluttering up the common areas. We were there over the 4th and there was a lot of people on the beach shooting off fireworks which is illegal in Indian Rocks. The police arrived and there was a heated confrontation between the police and crowd right behind the resort. We were told it is under new ownership so that might explain the difference in our experiences. The location is incredible though and we will return again in the future...
Read moreWas a little skeptical about this place when reading the reviews even though it had 4.5 rating. It's rated 3 star hotel and RCI Silver Achievement. My wife picked it and reserved it for Labor Day week. I was quite surprised upon entry. It had been updated with the exception of the bathroom counter which was still in good shape just older colors. It had open concept in den, kitchen and dining area. The furniture was comfortable as well as the beds. It was a two bedroom unit/2 full baths unit with a view of the gulf coming in at 1400 sq. ft. Nice pool area with plenty of lounge chairs to use. Directly on the beach and just a very short walk to the shore line. They had Adirondack chairs available for beach use at no charge. After the busy Labor Day weekend we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Grocery store about 2 miles away and several locally owned food establishment close by. All of the employees were very nice. I would recommend this place and would stay here...
Read moreI owned week 21 for years. It was a nice place for a while. Then, there was a leak over the balcony door that was not fixed for probably a decade. Everything was outdated. I kept it because it had beautiful beach access, it was across the street from a bar I liked, and I didn't want the hassle of selling it. Despite everything else, the thing that made me decide to sell was knowing the leak in my unit was never fixed despite the ever-rising maintenance fee. Where was that money I paid going? My suspicion was, it went to the beachside units. I learned most (if not all) of those are owned by members of the owner's board -the people who decided how the maintenance money was spent. I decided to sell and ended up paying the property's realtor a double-digit commission! Glad to be free of it. There are far better places to stay on IRB. Don't buy their timeshare -pick up a week on VRB or local realtor site at a modern place. Don't believe the +4 rating; it's not even...
