DeSanti Salon & Spa Aveda — Local services in Indian Rocks Beach

As we had to be extra cautious with covid due to my elderly parents, I had not been to a hair salon in two years. Just trimmed my ends and colored my hair at home a couple of times. I was vacationing in Indian Rocks Beach (IRB). And with all the sunshine I saw how absolutely horrible my hair looked. Lots of gray mixed in with my natural brown, dry, and just not in good shape at all. I decided that it was beyond time to get myself together.

So I scoured hair salons and stylists in the beach areas and even around Tampa. Dee at DeSanti had great reviews and it turned out that the salon was just a couple of miles away from where I was staying. I called, explained my situation, and was able to get an appointment with Dee within the next week. They just blocked out a few hours, understanding that I'd need color, highlights, lowlights, a new cut, and likely a special treatment (or two...).

The salon is nice... clean, quiet, organized, low-key, great equipment. And Dee is absolutely wonderful. I showed her a couple of pics of what I was looking for (re: color and cut) and asked for her opinion. She patiently listened to me, explained what she thought we should do, showed me samples of the hair color, told me how she approaches haircuts on curly hair, and more.

Dee is super nice, fun to talk with, and she took great care of me. She also absolutely transformed my hair. I wish I had before and after photos to post (although I don't know if I'd be brave enough to post the "before" ones). The base color, highlighting, and cut was perfect... Dee followed the gist of the pics I had shared but customized everything to really fit me, as we had discussed. I truly felt like a new - and very happy - woman when I walked out of the salon. I am so glad I found DeSanti and I can't wait to see Dee again when I'm back in IRB next month!...

I have been going to this salon since February when the new owner, Santi, took over. All of the stylists are very good, and yes, Dee is amazing. Just look at some of her before and after pics on Facebook. She performs magic on really stressed, tired hair. When the salon closed in March due to Covid, the owner used the time to completely renovate this beach-side salon. Not only did he do a major face-lift, but upgraded most of the equipment with state-of-the art machines, and turned it into an Aveda concept salon. While I was there people were coming in just to buy some product, and once they entered the salon, and were greeted with very friendly faces offering them refreshment, they decided to stay and have some services done. Dee cut my hair the other day and really gave me a new very chic look. I am now looking forward to my facial on Thursday with Jan, who joins DeSanti from the Ritz Carlton....

Lovely salon and people! Santi, the owner is very nice and personable. He took time to show me around the salon and their beautiful gallery while I was waiting on my mom to get a haircut. Dee did such a nice job with my mom’s hair and brows that I immediately scheduled an appointment for myself. I live in Indianapolis and have a good hairdresser but I was due for a color and I could tell that Dee really knows what she’s doing so I went for it! And I couldn’t be happier! She did a gorgeous color on my hair! Days later my hair is extremely soft and shiny and I’m getting non stop compliments on the color!
