My hotel stay suffered from many problems, from minor to major. All I want from my hotel is a clean and comfortable room so that I can get some decent sleep. My room failed on both accounts. Upon check in my room key did work. It turns out that they lock on my door is in bad shape and that I just needed to swipe the card just for it to work. Nothing like have to swipe my room key many times just to get into my room at the end of the.
Upon enter the room I was over powered by the smell. It stank of some cleaning agent that is commonly used to come up odors. The lobby did not smell bad, the hall way did not smell bad, but walk into my room and you are hit with the power smell of that chemical.
After I checked in and an employee helped me get into my room the first time, my room was not completely cleaned. The pull out bed was still out. The room is warm so I turn down the AC and leave. I come back many hours later and my room is still very hot. I wait a couple more hours thinking that the AC unit is just very slow. Nope, it is just not working my room is much hotter than the hallway outside, after midnight the general manager comes after explaining how unacceptable this issue he finally replaces my AC with a different unit.
The next morning I go to take a shower and notice that there is old opened bar soap in the shower with me. Great I am taking a shower in a bathroom that wasn't every cleaned after the last person checked out.
The last two nights of my stay, sleep was impossible because of the loud people above me. After the first night I call the front desk where a lady says that she will take care of and call me back. She never called me back and from what I can tell by the continued noise she did not take care of it.
The best part of my stay was the free breakfast which was acceptable. The only issue was that the same food was served every morning. Other Fairfield Inn's vary their hot menu items slightly each day or very few days. That was not happening here. It is a minor issue, but after trying to get some sleep while the room above is having basketball practice and breathing that chemical agent in my room all night, it doesn't make me...
Read moreThis isn't a luxury setting but you'd never know that. Although the room was a touch snug, it was totally workable, very nice, well-equipped with a great office chair and desk for work plus an added chair to relax in. All the storage, furnishings and amenities were in great shape, handy and met any traveler's needs and the hallways were cheerful with nice carpeting. Best of all, the staff was 5-STAR and very responsive. Breakfast simply could not be better; many options no matter what your preferences. The quality food was hot, abundant, well looked after and constantly refilled and the seating area accommodated many people and was very nice. It was an especially nice situation for families. Frankly I've never had a better breakfast experience even in more expensive hotels and restaurants - even other Marriotts and bigger facilities. The exercise equipment wasn't extensive but it was there and well kept and the pool looked very nice, making us wish we'd brought our suits. There was also a washer/dryer available which, to me, is a very big deal when you're on the road for a few days. Also the registration and checkout experience was a breeze and another Marriott helped us set up an immediate checking. We felt well taken care of in every way! The building doesn't look especially fancy or unique but it's a great experience and a handy location, even though it might look a little out of the way. It's easy to get to other spots because of the Interstate, which is in sight of the hotel. I wish there had been a restaurant in the hotel, although there were snacks available at the front desk. But good dining options of a variety of types are plentiful across the street at a varying price ranges. We had excellent meals right across the street. The hotel is also near a good bit of quality shopping, since it's opposite a large shopping center. I am confident that you would have a happy stay at this hotel. For some reason this comment lists our age range as 18-25 but we are both adults with a lot of hotel...
Read moreMy daughter had a business trip and we traveled from Alabama. We travel often and has resided in many hotels and resorts. This hotel was nice and clean. There were no bugs and no pets even around the dumpster area there were no cars or dogs handing around. I didn't see any cigarette butts in the ground or anything. The housekeepers and housekeeping was top notch. 86th Street is surrounded by businesses and factories. There are numerous eateries and tons of things to do here. There is an outlet right across the street from the hotel. We had a blast and was near everything. Perfect location and I absolutely loved that there was not a trace of an ant or a roach not only in my room but in the entire hotel! I've had those awful experiences at top notch hotels that had been recently built and they had bugs in my room and pets hanging out at the dumpsters. I enjoyed being able to walk and not look down because you may step into something smelly. I would most definitely lodge there again. The breakfast was plentiful and had a variety of choices. They had plenty of meat, egg varieties, nuts and grains, cereals, juices and milk, breads, muffins, coffees, teas....etc. They definitely feeds you until you pop. Yes my experience was nice and as a 51 year old veteran woman and college student I know what to look for when I lodge that agrees with me and my liking. I had to give the staff here there flowers. Thank you all for all that you do with special recognition and appreciation to Vickie and TyAngela. They made our stay Spectacular by giving us great places to visit while we were there. I love you girls! 😘 Youngster you know who you are...Vickie don't change my new Dear friend....hit...
