Tegry Bistro — Restaurant in Indianapolis

My wife and I were warmly greeted by a gentleman at the sushi bar, and the hostess. Our server was very attentive and made sure our drinks were filled and the food was served promptly. The Vegetable Spring Rolls were very flavorful, and the dipping sauce had a great flavor with enough heat on the back end to cause a tingling sensation on the lips. Unfortunately the rolls were far too crispy as was evidenced by the dark brown color. The Miso Soup was warm and flavorful, and complemented by the soft tofu. The sushi was very nicely plated and presented to us. The Tiger Eye Roll wasn't tightly wrapped and a bit sloppy to handle, and the inside roll wasn't as crispy as it normally is. The Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll had a nice crispy crunchy crust that was just sufficient to the ratio of rice and tuna. I have been going to Tegry for the past 3 years even after we moved an hour away. We always had great food and service, but tonight was not the case. We waited over 45min to order our food, while other tables that arrived well after we did we waited on. Our server was no where to be found when we needed drinks. I had to constantly ask other servers for drinks. We watched many tables that arrived after us receive their food and get their bill and leave in a timely matter. Not once were we rude or raised our voices at anyone. We politely asked for what we needed in hopes that our serve would get a clue and come over, but she didn’t. I had to finally ask for my bill because after being at the restaurant for almost 3 hours with poor service and a less than patient 4 year old, I had to leave. Not impressed by this...

I now know why the Brownsburg location closed permanently. This was my favorite restaurant when I lived in Indy. I came to visit and couldn't wait. My favorite roll is the volcano. He said something about 2.0. I said I want the original. I got a roll that was cut 8 instead of 4 and the portions were not the same. No black eggs, hardly any cheese and shrimp and way more than the previous dot of red sauce. I would have preferred to been told that it isn't made that way anymore. I wouldn't have ordered it at all of I knew it was going to be that different. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed for someone who went out of their way on a short trip just to go to Tegry. Service was also subpar. Not one refill...
