Location: Best Western Airport Plaza Inn, Inglewood, CA
Stay: Thursday 07/27/2017 - Sunday 07/30/2017 (3 nights)
Room: 319
First off, how about hiring and training a front desk manager that doesn't play dumb (silent) or make up excuses for overcharging your room rate TWICE! My fiancée and I spent 30-45 minutes at the front desk on two different days of our three night stay at the Best Western Airport Plaza Inn and several times had to question and correct their overcharged nightly rate billing error + repetitive computer arithmetic errors!!! The Weekend daytime manager Dennis wasn't even apologetic to us on their obvious billing error (the rate in the computer was $75 more than my email confirmed online booked rate including taxes/fees) or didn't even talk to us face to face or show any basic customer service 101 skills. Daniel on the other hand was great with customer service, very apologetic to the room rate overcharge and super helpful if be it a little overwhelmed with our room billing issue coupled with other guest concerns at the front desk (yes there were several of us unhappy guests!).
Next, our room's bed had a huge body indent in it on the right side closest to the door... like someone 400 lbs had been sleeping there for years? I had to sleep on my fiancee's side of the bed to avoid sleeping in the uncomfortable sag, especially because Inwoke up he first morning with back pain! (check the mattress in room 319!)
Or how about something as simple as room service providing bar soap in the bathroom/sink area? Or a room where the A/C didn't smell like mildew or the carpet/drapes smelling like old 1980's era cigarette smoke!?! Or maybe addressing the issue with the Sunday continental breakfast room service running out of basically all food?!? No sausage, potatoes, waffle batter gone, all fruit, bagels, sliced bread and muffins... GONE at 9am!!! The continental breakfast was advertised until 10a and even the trash can was removed so one of the hungry breakfast guests could throw away their sugar packets and coffee cups (since all the food was gone at 9am!)
In summary, we totally felt like we were cheated out of our $143-162 nightly room stay rate. I have stayed at $40-50 Motel 6's and worse that had better front desk manager service, better comfy rooms and free/stocked continental breakfast as advertised with the room and with rate.
A single star experience for sure.

Read moreWasn’t able to catch the name, but if Henry is the Hispanic gentleman that worked Monday 8/4 yes his service was great, appreciate him for calling when I got to the room to insure the room was up to par.
Room was nice and clean, tv has some good cable channels and I can’t get over how isolated it feels inside when you put the shade down absolutely no type of sun comes in the morning, and it truly just helps with the sleep. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a room this dark during the day if you like a dark room when sleeping.
Breakfast was honestly amazing in my eye.. you can truly tell the lady that works in there put that’s extra love in the food, probably the only hotel in LA that seasons the eggs, waffles was fire. first morning was cinnamon and classic waffles then this morning she did strawberry and classic sooooo good!! can’t forget the extra stuff, sausages, potatoes, toast, cakes, juices, cereal. And plenty accessories to grab just cause lol.
My ONLY 2 ISSUE that needs to be addressed immediately is that pissy elevator smell, not going to beat around the bush with you guys and I know when your staff enters the elevator, they smell it too. mopping the elevator isn’t good enough it’s time to spray it down really good with good cleaning chemicals and a pressure washer, Same way the janitor was power washing the parking lot floor like that’s really necessary.
Last and not least if you guys can please fix the issue with the cards to access the rooms. There should be no reason why I had to go downstairs three times in a matter of two days because the card wasn’t working. Other then that I had a great stay and will for sure be back...
Read moreI stayed here for 12 nights recovering from a surgery, and had a nice time here. The hotel was undergoing renovations at the time, mostly in the public areas but apparently in a couple of rooms as well. A renovation here was a good choice, as the rooms were nice enough (aside from rotting or peeling on the bathroom moulding) but the public areas definitely looked dated.
The counter staff was nice, but their work area looked a little too cramped and therefore looked pretty messy in the back. The cleaning staff seemed to do a nice job as well, however at least a few of them don't speak English so they had to find another person when we had a request, which was fine.
Parking is easy, but is charged for, I believe $7 per night. Some parking spots are covered, some aren't, but they're all first come first serve. It never got too filled though.
There is also a drink vending machine, outside by the parking lot, with an ice machine next to it. TV's were nice/new models, and there was plenty of seating/table/desk space. We had a room at the back end of the hotel so it was nice and quiet there, with only a little bit of street noise. It is a fairly busy street out front though, so the front rooms are probably pretty loud during rush hours.
The showers could really use some grab bars for safety, as an amputee I felt a little unsafe using them.
The immediate area is definitely older, and there's some not so great people in the area making it feel a bit unsafe.
Overall I enjoyed my stay, especially for the...
