Hubby and I enjoyed most of our stay.
There two major issues that we noticed.
The next morning, management was already made aware of the situation and they offered to comp us $50 from our final bill. That was enough for me to not to write to corporate but seriously they need to fix that issue about the detectors since this is a recurring issue with this hotel per staff.
There were a few pros:
There is a Walmart behind the hotel that is within walking distance.
The rooms and bathrooms are exactly as pictured.
The hot tub was awesome.
We heard no one next to us and the doors didn't slam.
All hotel staff that I encountered was at least kind or professional. Richard, the Bistro Team, Gene from Maintenance, and Housekeepers were very accommodating and get my praises.
The TVs in the room, automatically takes you to the wander channel to find local activities and restaurants.
A random note about the room packages: We got the wine and dine package that included 2 entrees and 2 glasses of wine. I don't think the package was really worth it with the average meal cost $10-12 & $5 beer/special drink or $15 glass of wine, the math doesn't equal out to worth it for us but profit to the hotel. I think it added an extra $40-$60 per night to our bill based on the rates when we booked. We loved the idea to not have to worry about leaving the hotel for food or coming in from a long day and having food there. But after a few days, you might want something new and actual variety instead of tavern/bar like food for dinner.
We chose to eat at the tables each night with the booths own TVs and still a small cafe feel.
As far the food, the bistro had pretty decent food. I was homesick one day and got the chicken noodle soup with grilled cheese. With some modifications, it was tolerable. They also offer brocolli and cheddar but those two soups aren't advertised like the tomato soup.
Highly recommended: The loaded tator tots added chicken, the flatbread with pepperoni and bacon, and the b.r.t.
The hot wings were decent, very inflated pricing. 8 smaller portioned wings cost $14.
We kept asking what was the cash value of our wine and dine package. We kept getting the response "one entree per adult" but when hubby and I were okay with spending more money for additional entree and wine, I was finally given a limit of $50 per night. This was upsetting because I ordered food/drinks later on as the night went on but had to pay out of pocket. Why wasn't it comped with the package? That's why I say it was worth it for us.
I would highly recommend the regular room with no additional package such as the breakfast or dinner package. Just get the room and get your food while out and occasionally grab food from the Bistro when you don't want to leave the hotel.
Last note, dont take long hot showers or your vacation will be...
Read moreI give this hotel 4 stars but I have my reasons. I was only here for one night. To be fair I only paid $153. So my expectations have to match the price. The hotel was clean. The wall PTAC unit in room 302 does need to be cleaned. It has debris from other dirty guests dropped in there. But that's not their fault. That's expensive to clean. Location is kind of in a Walmart parking lot so not the best of views. But again expectations vs value. I was honestly there to sleep shower and go to a meeting so view is not important but definitely worth noting if that's important to you. The room was clean but maintenance definitely needs to give this room a visit. Heres the list of what's wrong.
Smoke detector does not line up with the hole in the wall. PTAC unit needs to be cleaned LED light on right side of bed needs to be replaced it flickered constantly. Toilet is chipped by toilet seat. Toilet paper holder does not support the weight of the toilet paper so the toilet paper hits the floor when it's placed on it. Privacy lock. They removed it from the door. But left behind the template to mount it and the holes in the door. Door closer needs to be adjusted bad. I felt bad when I let go of the door at a small angle and it slammed very loudly.
Things at this hotel are dated in the rooms a lot more than most courtyards I've stayed at. But Again new stuff equals higher room costs. Which most people don't understand .
Cleanliness: room was clean.
Sheets were fresh no stains no issues. Toilet was clean Sinks were clean Towels were clean
Shower door had a lot of soap scum (glass doors) many house keepers will always skip this part they rinse it down but they don't put the soap scum chemicals on the door so it looks very spotty.
Rooms were quiet you cant hear the highway which is nearby so that's nice. Room features a balcony which is an added plus.
For the value id definitely recommend this hotel.
The biggest reason it did get a 4 star was the parking lay out. I particularly didn't like the parking. There's plenty of parking yes but the location of the lot can be a bit annoying especially for someone that can't walk long distances. The parking lot being in the back was great because I could see my car from the room. But it was a bit annoying just simply because I kept missing the door to go right that way. So a sign could be added to make that a lot less of an issue. IE "Guest Parking exit" but overall the experience was great. I didn't catch the guys name that checked me in but he was amazing. He works second shift wears glasses and had a couple of jokes with check in. Reminded me of myself when I worked at the hotels. The job isn't the best and the second shift hours aren't the best. But we make the best of it and have fun in the process. So kuddos to him for having...
Read moreOk- I usually don’t post reviews of places unless I’m just absolutely blown away at how awesome the place is- or how unbelievably awful the place is. This place is amazing. Let me tell you why.
I have been on the road in Florida for a month a half for work. I stay in a different hotel in a different area every night pretty much. Most of these hotels have been IHG or Marriott chain hotels- so no flea bag places. Most are average and comfortable- every one of them has something wrong with it- but what can you expect for what you pay.
From the time I walked into this place- I was impressed. I don’t know if they have redone the interior areas or rooms recently- but it is on par with some of the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton’s I’ve stayed at. (I’m out of town for over 200 days a year.)
I run a construction company- so I have been outside for 10 hours in the 110 degree heat index. I’m sure I looked homeless and I probably smelled worse than 7 day old garbage. I don’t ever really expect much from the person behind the desk- I wouldn’t want to talk to me either to be honest. I was greeted at the desk by Rich- who had probably the greatest welcome and check in spiels I’ve ever heard. It was like chic fil a - but it was genuine and not forced- if that makes sense. I could just tell he really cared about doing his job properly. That’s very rare these days. The room was awesome. Very modern. Comfortable bed- hot showers with good water pressure- had everything you needed. Had to go back downstairs and grab some sodas and a fork- and dealt with Jeff this time- who seriously had just as good of a customer oriented attitude as Rich. I mean- just blown away with the customer service and this hotel in general.
I don’t know if anyone from Marriott will ever read this- but you guys need to promote both of these guys and have them teach your new hires how every single front desk employee at your locations should interact with their customers. I have been looked down on checking into decent hotels after a hard days work- but these guys are just so above and beyond it puts every hotel between here and Miami to shame. I witnessed it first hand- because I pay attention to stuff like that. No one asked me to write this review. I’m really too tired to even do this to be honest- but I had to let someone know how truly impressed I was with this 165 dollar a night hotel- probably the best value of any hotel I have stayed at in this entire country. Absolutely amazing. Keep up the...
