Sleep Inn Jacksonville Airport — Hotel in Jacksonville

My husband decided to try to save a little money and try out a hotel that we have not tried before. People stick with what you know! Spend the extra money if you can. I can tell you, without question, I will NEVER patronize a Sleep Inn EVER again! ||I had never stayed at this chain prior to this experience and it was bad enough, I’ll not take a chance again! There is an OBVIOUS reason that this chain is low budget! My photos speak for themselves. ||Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted with a sign that stated nothing more than ‘Be back in 10 mins. Thanks.’ Anyone and/or anything could’ve entered that building and gone any direction. No one would’ve known any different. ||We had an early flight so I checked out the breakfast location… it was all of one small room with appliances around the perimeter of it. Some of them looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned since their first use! 🤮 ||I then wandered around the seating area/lobby still waiting for the clerk to return from wherever they had been. I found a sanitation station where Purell was dispensed (if the package had been replaced.) It, too, looked as if it had never been cleaned. Ironic, given the fact that it is essentially supposed to be used to clean & sanitize a person’s hands! ||Once the clerk returned, we weren’t greeted with an inviting reception…it was more of an “I’m not too happy with my life at the moment and you’re not making it any better’” greeting. About two minutes and very little conversation later and we were assigned the room directly behind the service desk! ||The disgust didn’t end at check in! The room was quite the let down! The ONLY positive thing about it was the fact it DID have a king size bed…. But… the sheets for it were either worn out or made to fit a queen size bed! They didn’t stay on the mattress at all! There was hair on both the sheets AND the bath towels, as well! ||I had to do some work at the desk. As soon as I pulled out the chair to sit in… I noticed something sticky on the front of the seat where you’d rest your back! Someone had spilled soda on the chair. That wasn’t the most obvious issue with the chair, however. It was visibly broken. It looked as though it had been thrown out a window or perhaps hit with a car, even. It was visibly lopsided! Nevertheless, I did finish my work. ||Then, I went to shower before bed… that was it for me! The bathroom should be one of, if not THE most sanitary part of a hotel room! The toilet had a mildew ring around it! The spigot for the tub had mildew ALL over it where it had constantly been dripped on by the shower head and rarely, if ever cleaned. The shower head had calcium deposits all over it, as well! ||First thing the next morning, I went to use the restroom when I woke up. I had a stand off with creepy crawly critters on the bathroom floor! ||This place is an absolute 💩 hole! I’m surprised I didn’t ‘catch something’ while there! I’d rather sleep in my vehicle the next time I have an early flight! It definitely WILL NOT be at this low class… I mean low cost place again! PAY THE EXTRA, PEOPLE!...

I normally don’t like leaving negative reviews, but do not come here unless it’s a very short stay. I work at a hotel, and have worked front desk and almost every position at a hotel. I truly do understand how stressful it can be, but there is no excuses for the service and rooms. The woman at check in was on her cellphone at the desk when we walked in. I had accidentally booked my room for the wrong date and didn’t know. I just went and booked a new room but she was of no help at all. I just stood in the lobby area trying to figure everything out after driving nearly 3 hours to get there. We get everything settled, and our room door is dying. I told the front desk before I left to go have dinner, and it still was flashing red when I came back. I didn’t even bother going back down. The room was not cleaned properly. I inspect rooms every day and can’t help just to nitpick, but anyone could see that room and know it wasn’t okay. The faucet looks like it hasn’t been wiped in ages, the bathtub had some sort of strange situation going on, the tables were dusty, and the microwave and fridge were dirty as well. Thankfully, I was only staying a night so i just checked to see if at least the bed was clean. I didn’t even shower that night because I didn’t want to put my feet in the tub. The one good thing I can note is that the man at the front desk in the morning though was a peach, and helped me out! I’m not writing this in hopes for a refund, but hope that someone in management will do better for the sake of the hotel. the outside and inside is gorgeous, but it’s just not well taken care of and is going to waste. If i wasn’t so tired and just rebooked a night, I would have just went to...

I gave 1 star bc I was required to! I picked this place as a quick stay the night before and after our family cruise. I called the hotel 24 hours in advance to arrange airport transportation like their page says but was told to call when I land in jacksonville. I said I'm a single mom with 3 kids and we're landing at 930pm, can I just make arrangements now so I don't have to sit there at night with my kids and luggage. No, so I was nervous about calling when I got there but I did and we were told a driver would pick up in 15 mins but they showed up 45 mins later! We got there and was given a room key, went to "our" room but the when we tried to open, the inside latch was locked! She gave us a room that was not available. Went back down to the desk where she insisted the lock gets stuck and we need to try again. I explained the latch has to be locked from the inside. She was trying to escort me upstairs then changed her mind bc she realized it had to be occupied by other guests already! She gave us another room. Seemed ok until we saw the roaches. We did not unpack. The sheets were stained on 1 of the beds. We didn't get any wash clothes and only 2 towels for the 4 of us. The smelled stank so we didn't shower. And we slept with lights on! The breakfast that's included was also nothing to brag about. Toast, watery scrambled eggs, and a waffle maker. Plan to eat somewhere else. I was so disappointed, I cancelled our 2nd day only to find out the "no cancellation fee" is bogus! I did not get a refund for the 2nd day. Very disappointing and highly encouraged anyone looking for a cheap night somewhere to skip...
