I'll start off with I'm a business traveler - staying in hotels 3 - 7 days a month. The front desk gentleman was pleasant and got me checked in rather quickly. Stayed in a king room - upgraded me to a suite (Gold Member) - nice spacious room. The bed was VERY nice to the point of writing down the name brand. Had breakfast - nothing real special than other hotels - food was decent - no complaints. I'll give the hotel a four star.
The reason for my one star review - there is "one" (pun intended) item ALL travelers want and that is a SAFE hotel stay. Yes, when I went to my truck - side window was smashed. Half the glass in the parking lot and the other in the front seat. I've learned not to keep anything valuable - no guns (yes, this is Texas and most of us carry) no money and no electronics. Oddly I did have two folding knives in open center console and a Gerber (multi tool) in closed center console - still there. I notified the front desk - man and woman said, "Sorry" and that's it. I took it like it was not the first time its happened. When I drove in to hotel ( night prior) made sure to back in facing the hotel not parking lots or road - within six space from the front door. They have iron fence all the way around - with what looks to be a large electric gate. Please note (read Side Note) below - cameras are never clear - useless! Gives you the sense of some security.
These Hotels need to do more than posting a sign stating how their not responsible for any damage or thefts. Not trying to get them to reimburse me for anything - just want them to do more. The side of Houston is called NW Houston. If you truly care about your guests - hire a security guard to patrol at night.
Side note: got broke into about six months ago - same side of town (Hampton N.W. Freeway at Pinemont) same smash and grab - all they got is a empty back pack. Parked up front - cameras aren't clear enough to make out anything.
Hotel Stay - ~$100.00 Passenger front Window Replacement - $200.00 Metal weather stripping - $230.00
No security - no stay!
May 2019 - I will revise my star rating to three - the GM reach out to me on email and on this review to apologize for the break in. I still believe that ALL hotels should do everything possible to make their guests safe. I did appreciate the correspondence. Again the rating does not reflect the room or hotel interior and as I said before the bed...
Read moreDO NOT stay here expecting a good breakfast. The location was great for everything I had planned over my weekend trip. It was also relatively close to the airport. Never had an issue with parking being available, even when returning late at night. No noise complaints. The bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. The top sheet, however, felt as thin as a piece of tissue. The A/C in the room worked just fine. Most of the bathroom was clean. Some of the towels had hair or stains on them. Asked for extra at the front desk. The attendant was coughing a lot into his hand before handing me the extra towels. Same thing occurred when he had to reprogram my keycard so I could get back into my room. Highly unsanitary. The toilet in the bathroom was very wobbly. You could see where the toilet was originally caulked to the floor and now it was completely misaligned and loose. Had to hold down the flusher for about 5 seconds for the toilet to flush. Upon entering the room, the first thing I noticed was the broken chair bent under the desk. I was REALLY hoping the breakfast would be decent, but it was a huge disappointment. I stayed here 3 years ago and the breakfast was better back then. Not great, but better. If you’re looking for hot options for breakfast please go somewhere else. There were no eggs, no sausage, no bacon, even on the weekend. Breakfast starts at 6am, but nothing was ready when I went down to check. I came back 20 minutes later to find slices of bread, prepackaged muffins, yogurt, cereal, bananas, apples, juice, water, and coffee. They had a waffle maker, but it never beeped when the waffle was ready so mine ended up being burnt. The butter was frozen solid so it was annoying trying to spread it on the toast. Breakfast ends at 9am. The next morning I went down at 8am before checking out and the breakfast area was completely wiped out. I doubt they were planning on replenishing anything. $150 for 2 nights was a little steep for the quality of this place. A lot must have changed since my last stay 3 years ago. I remember everything here being much better quality back then. There’s also a gas station next door which is convenient for...
Read moreI reported this hotel to the state attorney generals office as well as the Better Business Bureu. Upon checking into our hotel room, I noticed blood stains on the sheets and broken/worn down furniture. I immediately went downstairs and complained to the desk receptionist where I was denied any refund or another room. She offered me two extra bed sheets or an early check out. I have documentation of all the bites that my children and I had after sleeping one night in this hotel room. The next morning the toilet also flooded. I noticed the toilet had a weak flush and was not flushing properly. I did not want to keep flushing so I left it alone while I was moving our belongings out of the hotel room. Upon returning to the room, I noticed the bathroom flooding (all of this occurred while I was going back and forth to load our baggage in the car). I even filed a complaint with Expedia and Best Western Plus corporate. Fast forward 3 weeks, hotel manager accused me of breaking their toilet and stole my deposit. The problem with these private owned hotels is that management/owners abuse their power and cover up everything. It’s easier to file an insurance claim and blame the customer to get a new toilet than to replace old, worn down appliances or furniture. Thankfully, I take full documentation of every hotel room before and after check out. I also have pictures of myself and my two children with bites. Pictures with dates/ time/location. We just purchased a NEW house(not remodeled or previously owned) and specifically told best western that I would like to make sure there are absolutely no bed bugs within the hotel room.
. . Update: That is exactly why you are trying to pin this on me to exclude yourself from having any accountability knowing you are unable to file insurance claim. Damages were reported to both staff/employees upon check in and you have failed to respond appropriately to those concerns. That tells me that you have avoided to maintain the condition of your bnb for previous or past incidents/damages. It is fraudulent (A scam) and therefore you have been reported to the FTC, BBB, and the Texas Attorney...
