Beltway Burgers & Bites — Restaurant in Texas

I stopped by here for lunch today. It had good reviews and the place was JUMPING! Business class, blue collar, everyone was there for food. I thought for sure I found a good place.

Got the beltway bacon burger combo with onion rings. I asked to swap American cheese for cheddar, and asked for crispy bacon. Got my drink and sat down for an expected wait based on the traffic in there.. it was BUSY.

I was surprised to get my order in about 5 minutes.

Issue 1, onion rings not hot.. didn't seem fresh, but I must have caught the tail end of a big batch.

Issue 2, burger was on what seemed like an old bun.. was not fresh, toasted, or anything.. like it just got pulled out of the pantry.

Issue 3, bacon was the soggy kind, not crispy at all.

Issue 4, NOTHING was hot.

My perception in hindsight is that it also has American cheese. I can usually taste cheddar, and considering the lack of flavor competition on that burger, I would have expected to taste even a mild cheddar.

Overall, nothing seemed fresh in the middle of a lunch rush.. I don't even understand how that's possible with the customers running through this place.

Will I be back? I always give second chances.. sometimes there is just an off day. I hope it is as good as everyone says the next...

Today was my first time dining and I expressed this to the cashier. This was at 8:35am First, I asked her if everything on the menu was available, again it’s my fist time. She replied,” If you want to until lunch time.” In my mind, I couldn’t believe she had said that. If anything, the proper reply would have been, I’m sorry, unfortunately, only breakfast is available, and then mentioned the time frames. Why would I want to wait until lunch to eat!!! I ordered chicken and waffles, and I was disappointed at how dry and tasteless the thin pieces of chicken were. I came into this restaurant hungry! I seasoned the one piece of chicken with salt and pepper but I couldn’t eat the second just tasting how dry the chicken was. I didn’t evening the other half of waffle. At this point I waited, in hopes 1 out of the 3 staff members including the person at the register that took my order, would come and ask how everything tasted. There was only 1 other table of 3 gentleman just chatting that had alto finished their meal. The restaurant was not busy. It was them and myself. Clearly the staff in this case the front of the house person handling orders and greeting needs some training. I will not return. I should have just gone next door...

I stopped at Beltway Burgers and bites for lunch while working in North West Houston. The only downside to this place was there was not a lot of curb appeal. I barely noticed it while looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. Once inside though the story changes. There is lots of appeal. The place was really clean, which is the first thing I notice from someplace new, and it was clean during a lunch rush. The menu was well put together with lots of good choices. The staff was friendly and engaging, answered questions, and interaction is positive, great customer service here. The prices were reasonable. However the most important thing.....how was the meal? It was great I had the ribeye sandwich. It was cooked perfectly. The flavor was amazing, everything was fresh, the seasoned fries were great, even the presentation was good. I'll be back here to try other items, I may be easily persuaded to have the same thing though, because it was so good! I rate this place 5 out of 5 stars on every level.
