DO NOT STAY HERE! WE’RE CALLING THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT!! I came in after a very tiring day of travel in the afternoon desperately needing a nap!! I checked into my room (125). Walking down the hall, I could smell something awful! I could see powder substance sprinkled on the carpeting and stains in the hallway that looked like someone did a #2 or puked at a doorway. The air quality was horrible as I made my way to my room. The room smelled funky too. I tried to rest but after a short time I decided to ask for a different room. I was told there were no other rooms available. I called all around and could not find another place to stay. They said they could move me to another room after 2 nights in that room. I left the A/C on low while I went back to take care of my mom down the street. Came back and the asked the night shift if, by chance, they may have had a cancellation/room available. They did! Same floor (first) across the hall (room 116). I checked it out before deciding if I wanted to move and that room smelled the same!! So I had to keep my original room. I toyed with the idea of sleeping in my car(!) or sleeping in a recliner in my mom’s assisted living room. But decided to stay because I didn’t want to sleep in a chair! I am now sick after staying there 2 nights! I now see some horrible reviews of people saying they saw black mold and the A/C units smelling when run, etc.! I also learned before my stay was over that there is a boiler upstairs that is leaking. They are spending a lot of $$ to fix it and had crews in on my second day working on it I believe. I witnessed on my second day they had carpet shampoo machines and the door at the end of the hall was open to help ventilate. I was also told that they keep the doors open when rooms are unoccupied to help ventilate. The windows do not open. I was told they clean the carpets all the time and they were not cleaning them because of my complaints. I highly doubt! If it is true that they shampoo the carpet all the time, it’s probably because They know they have an issue!! We are planning on CALLING THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. The gentleman working at the front desk told me who to contact the next morning, Jay (the owner Dean’s son) but mysteriously he was in a “meeting” and when I asked how long he would be in a meeting the front desk woman was not aware. I call BS. This place is poorly managed. I am sick and so upset that the very few times I get to visit with my mom who lives here was tainted by me being sick and also being UPSET over this sucky hotel. I will never go back there. They would not give us any money back because the front desk staff is not authorized to help with that. The manager is not available to talk to. I’m sure the HEALTH DEPARTMENT will get through to them! My husband is going to handle this matter - we do have legal counsel. I know it’s only two nights but we work hard for our $$ and expect a hotel to have healthy air quality and no mold or chemicals/cleaning products or whatever it is that I was breathing for 2 nights. Even with my CPAP with a filter, I could still smell something funky. Thanks for messing up my stay here! $449.74 down the drain. Thankfully I found another hotel to move to. End up spending more $$ but my health is more important. You’ll be hearing from us. I also have to say that the front desk told me something to the tune of ‘my “sensitivies” are not their concern (how I interpreted it)… That everyone is different and some people have sensitivities and some people don’t. Again I call BS especially after seeing some of the...
Read moreThe only things this hotel has going for it is the view and location. I wouldn’t waste your money. We stayed for 2 nights and I couldn’t wait to leave and here is why: 1. The hotel staff is rude especially the front desk. They’re not wanting to help and huff if you ask for something and they have to get up off the couch in the waiting room from watching TV. 2. They had NO CLEAN TOWELS! I’m not even kidding. We asked twice for extra towels and they didn’t have any available. We had to sign off on a paper at check in that there is no housekeeping but we could as for extra towels… which they didn’t even have enough of. 3. The bed is somewhat comfy if you can get around the dirty sheets (which they didn’t have extra clean sheets either) and the small lumpy “half pillows” they fold a full size pillow case on. 4. The hallways are peeling with wallpaper and smell of smoke. Our room had a baseboard missing and you could see water damage of some sort (mildew/mold) that was just painted over. 5. The fire alarm was low on batteries in the room and kept beeping. No one was able to correct it so we had to deal with it. 6. The pool closes at sunset (according to the front desk gentleman at 8pm “no exceptions this is Florida” so if you’re a family who enjoys coming back after dinner or being out to let the kids swim or just hang by the pool, you won’t be able to. The first Florida hotel we have ever stayed at that doesn’t have their pool open til 11pm. 7. The breakfast area was out of everything and no one around to ask. The waffle machine then “blew up” and batter was everywhere before we left so we went elsewhere. 7. If you’re someone who uses and hair dryer and iron in the room make sure you check it first. The hairdryer and iron were broken and ironing board was dirty and smelled musty. 8. The AC is loud when it turns on and it will startle you up at night.
This was all addressed at the hotel but zero care from the staff as I would normally never go to google with a review. I just wish I was warned before taking my family here. Not sure if the good reviews were...
Read moreI will never come back here again. Husband checked me in as I waited in the car. They assumed he did not have a reservation and told him no vacancies. Hubby says i do have a reservation. Front desk said oh we have one that just came up or said opened up. He gets through that. We unload the car into room. I then come out to walk the property, but ask the same employees where is the pool. They say it's closed until wed and can't even sit on the deck. I stood on the first floor and there is water damage throughout. You can see a line on wall two feet from floor where water was. None of these facts were disclosed on website. The main reasons for checking was to spend a few days to recover from a surgery, be poolside and walk the bridge. There is clearly water damage throughout and when we asked about it at the front desk we were lied to and told no flood/water damage. The second attendant offered me another room but it would take a while. He never got back to me. We asked a cleaning lady and she admitted yes there was. My room ceiling also had bubbling peeling paint in both bathroom and sleeping area. They have drink vending machines that only take dollars, a kitchen without even filtered water. There is a coffee machine in the room. Do they expect I use tap water? Gross. I came back today and saw room was not even cleaned. That was it for me. Ended up checking out a night early. Hubby gave joe, night front desk clerk, the key back and advised room never got cleaned. He seemed like I was bothering him at work asking about it. Said I had to call and ask to get room cleaned. He says oh they should have told you. I say no did not know. I find that weird as they barely had any guests there judging by the parking lot. I advised Joe I did not have a good stay. He says to...
