We stayed here for one night for a baseball tournament. We, as in the parents of the team, were sitting in the lobby area after eating food we had ordered in and was approached by the security guard stating that we need to pack our things up and head up to our rooms because it was quiet time. He, also, told us that if we have any kids that are not accompanied by an adult and won't tell them who their parents are, they will contact the KC Police and DCFS, that our kids would be taken to "Juvie" and we wouldn't be able to pick them up until morning. First. That was a horrible way to approach paying customers. He needs a course on manners and customer service. Two. You don't threaten parents like that. We were not doing anything wrong and our kids had just finished eating. They weren't doing anything wrong, either. There was no warning. Just threats. From a guy on a power trip. Third. This is a hotel. People should be allowed to congregate in lobby/seating area. We offered to pay for a conference room amd was declined due ALL of there multiple conference rooms were being used the next day. When we left the next day at 11am. The hotel was empty, the parking lot was empty. Those conference rooms were not being used. I am going to say that if my son was approached by someone, whom is a stranger, who appears to be impersonating a police officer, with his fake badge, they are not going to talk to them. We were not made aware of these "rules" or that we would be approached by security guards or that our minor children would be approached by strange men. We were told that the security guard was going to go to another property but that was not the case. After we went outside, with our children, the security guards called the police. The police never spoke with us but we did see the same security driving around the parking lot multiple times, even parking to watch us from a distance.
We were not the only ones approached by this man, he approached minor females and said the same thing to them, making one so upset that she began crying. This type of behavior is uncalled for amd ridiculous. I can promise you that this Embassy Suites has lost a lot of business due to this. You're talking whole teams and maybe even sports organizations that will not be using your hotel again. That says a lot for families that come down here several weekends...

When we first checked in and were given our key cards, we made the trek with our 3 kids to our room on the 6th floor only to realize the key cards didn’t work. So we went all the way back to the front desk to find out the attendant had written the wrong room number down. Honest mistake. No biggie. Finally made it to our room and the dingy carpet smell was even worse. The room fridge was broken. The elevator closest to our room was also out of order when we first arrived. I will add that within the first day of our stay, it was fixed. Breakfast was decent; although, one of the attendants was extremely rude and unhelpful. My husband asked her for a high chair for our one year old, and she refused to get him one until he took my middle son back to the 6th floor to get his shoes. I understand now the policy is to protect guest from broken glass. This was not explained to us and had it been kindly communicated to us, it would not have seemed like such a burden. My husband agreed to go get his shoes, and when she did finally bring the high chair out, she left it unattended so of course someone else claimed it. When we asked for another one, she pointed to the one she brought out and asked, “isn’t that your kid?!?” Needless to say, we kept our distance from her the rest of the trip. The rest of our stay was uneventful. I was mistakenly charged $24 per day for parking, but after management responded to my review, I called and the woman who assisted me on the phone willingly obliged with getting those erroneous charges reversed so for that reason I updated my service review from...

I stayed in a room at Embassy Suites KCI that was marketed as a Pure Wellness room. The irony? I opened the cabinet under the sink and found one of the worst mold infestations I’ve ever seen in a hotel. It was widespread, thick, and clearly there for a long time.
I could tell something was off from the moment I entered the room. I searched and found this. My heart fell through my stomach. (Video is viewable on Google maps, I’ve attached screenshots as well for those using other apps)
I have previously suffered from mold toxicity/allergies. Have spent years of my life healing to the point I am now. I know, intimately, the horrors that accompany mold infestation and exposure.
It would be as inhumane of me to remain silent on this issue as it is for this establishment and management to have cultivated it.
I took a video, showed the front desk, got my refund, and was told someone from management would follow up. I sent multiple emails, videos and all. That follow-up never happened. No call, no email, no reassurance that the mold was addressed. Just silence. Namely the assistant general manager. Jody Davidson, of atrium hospitality. (This embassy suites is franchised and owned and operated by Atrium Hospitality) Apparently there is no contact on file for the general manager of the hotel, that being, Suzie P. Who so frequently responds to reviews.
If this is what they consider “Pure,” I can’t imagine what’s behind the closed doors of their regular rooms.
Stay somewhere else. This is a blatant disregard of public health and safety. Everyone involved should feel guilt and shame for the toxins they’re knowingly exposing guests to.
SHAME ON YOU HILTON. SHAME ON YOU ATRIUM HOSPITALITY. SHAME ON YOU EMBASSY...
