It wasn’t very busy for a Friday night. So no wait to be seated. After 10 mins our waitress came and took drink n food order. When she came back with drinks we asked if we could have our salads before entrees came. Was told no problem. After 10 mins we finally received our salads. Only two of us had them. Then we asked if we could have our bread basket. After 5 mins she brought the bread and also our entrees. The whole point of asking for salads early was to be able to eat them without our other food getting cold. I’m not a fast eater nor do I feel like I should have to eat fast. The whole point is to sit and enjoy your food. So now we have a table full of food. Those without a salad began on their entree. I’m trying to eat fast but I know what my tummy will do. I finished my salad and so did the other person. Luckily her food didn’t turn as cold as mine do to portion size. I had a piece of leather cooked med rare on a cold plate. When I cut into it I remembered she didn’t ask me how I wanted it cooked. I was going to have it cooked right but everyone else was just about done. I ordered the sweet potato and had no clue there was pecan nuts with it. I did have her take it back and just put everything in it except the nuts. That alone took 15 mins! I guess they had to microwave it. You can tell can tell a baked one verses a nuked one. Had I returned the steak everyone would have just sat there waiting on me. We needed ketchup, sauce, butter, honey, refills. Each one of these was asked individually as server would walk away at the mention of one thing. My son n mom had the chicken and dumplings which they normally love. I looked over at my son and he placed all the chicken to the side. I asked why. He said it was gross. My mom said I thought it didn’t taste right either. So they both just ate the dumplings. The server didn’t come by again until she brought the check. 3 people were dissatisfied with their food. Upon paying I told a male cashier about the salads coming first but that’s as far as I got. He just said thank you for telling me. I’ll have a talk with her. We can’t get better if nobody says anything. I was fed up by now. Paid our bill and got this survey in my email. We won’t be going to this location again (Tiffany Springs MO) or any for a while. Going out to eat now a days is a treat. Food should be good and hot. No corners should be cut. I feel like I was ripped off. My money taken. We go there because my son loves the chicken n dumplings. He won’t be asking to eat here anytime soon. There was only four of us. My dad had the chicken friend steak. He ate it all but he will never complain...
Read moreWhen ordering over medium eggs, and your used to the eggs coming out with the yolk slight cooked but still runny and the white fully cooked. Then order over medium well, I ordered over medium and got an over easy egg. Or might as well ask for the egg to be poached at that point. None the less their eggs were a 3 out of 10 not salted and lacked flavor. I did ask to speak to a manager after the server argued with me. The manager Dave politely came over and explained that they cook their eggs this way. I tried to Google a recipe where eggs were cooked the way they are explained and just could not find an example. It's really not a big deal, but kinda like when you go to a steak house and the server repeats for you a description of how the steak will come out in case it differs from your thought process your able to make a quick change. I think this would work well for eggs as not ever resteraunt cooks their eggs the same. With the same expectation.
The French toast were sweet and had the right amount of ratio, the powdered sugar added just enough sweetness. And the cute self serving of syrup really made the dish. I give it a 9. For me personally a little cinnamon would have completed it. But again that's just me and my personal taste.
The caramel latte was a reflection of gas station cappuchino not worth the price point. 5.5
The bacon was fresh and salted right. A 8.5.
I also ordered a loaded tote breakfast appetizer it came with cheese not melted, bacon chunks and a side of ranch. I would have predered the cheese be melted overall it was tastet and unique. 6.4
I got one lf their featured advertised 5 dollar take home meals I got the fried homesite chicken with Mac n cheese. I also added one of there...
Read moreI was having car trouble, and the GPS had sent me off track to an area where I was unfamiliar. It was getting lat, and I looked ahead and saw the Cracker Barrel sign. I thought, yes!!! Safe tonight and dumplings tomorrow. Once I oarked, I was so upset I was shaking.
I am an older woman and by myself. I just had extensive work done on the van. I could not figure out what was happening.
In the morning, I had to send some work in from my phone. I finalized it and sent it. Then I tried to find someone to look at my van. It was a Sunday, so I was not having any luck. I also created a couple of posts to see if there was anyone who could look at my van.
I was getting hungry and was going to go in and eat. Just as I was finishing, I heard someone yell, "Get off your phone and get off the lot." I looked around and saw no one. I was the only person sitting in a vehicle using a phone in the very back of the lot. I don't know who yelled, but if it was Cracker Barrel emoyee, I was shocked. I know it was later than when I usually leave, but I was afraid to drive. Whoever it was, I decided to chance it and go down the road. I no longer felt safe. It went from a safe haven with great food to fear and no food. Turned out I should not have driven the van. I got lucky that I did not seize the engine, but it should have. Hopefully, this location becomes more welcoming.
Sad, I did not get my chicken and dumplings. I traveled a long way and was looking forward to treating myself. I'm glad I had somewhere to stop when in...
