Super 8 by Wyndham Kansas City Airport — Hotel in Kansas City

Note that this was a few months ago. Stayed here using Wyndham points, so it should be completely free (Wyndham comps the hotel in some way), other than a deposit which makes sense. I was there with my older mother and when I went to the store within 5 minutes who I believe was the owner (or at least someone who acted as if they were) was pounding on the rooms door demanding he be paid money for the room he knew he wasn't owed.

Given I've seen other posts taking about being double charged I think he is knowingly trying to steal from guests. I think most people know the difference between a room charge and a deposit charge. I believe they were double charged. He wants 2x the $ form guests and for me wanted his points comp and $. Not to mention Wyndham free nights cost either 7,500 points (low end) 15,000 (decent), or 30,000 (really nice and and usually a prime location). As someone who has stayed in many Wyndham properties over the years, the idea that this is 15,000 is laughable.

Also, when we got into the room the only toilet paper was about 1/4 of a roll. Went to ask for more and he (same guy who demenad money he wasn't owed) said 1 roll per room per day. (What?) He still wouldn't hand me even one roll when I told him the room had practically none when we walked in. That's why I was running to the store. He is a penny pincher and a thief in the worst way. He shouldn't be allowd to benefit from using the Super 8 or Wyndham names. I've reported this to Wyndham I hope he'll at least be receiving a call.

This place desperately needs an updated remodeling, I’ve stayed at Super 8 once before not far from here but this location is such a downgrade. There are zero outlets near the bed for phone charging, even my non smoking room still smells like cigarettes, the TV’s are so old and outdated they don’t even have HDMI ports to plug in my PlayStation, NO MICROWAVE, the clock in the room is broken and doesn’t even display anything. Even the exterior is poorly outdated and is significantly more ratchet than the edited pictures online suggest. While trying to reserve Barry Road Super 8 I accidentally reserved this location instead so when I went to the more updated Barry Road one I was told my reservation was actually for this one instead which was so close in distance (only 8 minutes) but so far in quality. I normally never stay at Super 8 but if you’re specifically looking to stay at a Super 8 near KCI airport I recommend either Platte City Super 8 or Barry Road Super 8. Both are less than 10 minutes away from this location. You won’t deal with any of the things I listed here at either one of those locations because they are both updated, just note that those are 100% none smoking hotels while this one has some rooms for smoking and some that aren’t which unfortunately means every room here smells like cigarettes regardless,...

Where do I begin? First off, we got to the hotel the night before our flight around 8pm. There was absolutely no where to park and multiple cars already parked illegally (in the grass and on the outside of the stall lines making it impossible to park elsewhere because you could not pull in or out due to the tight space). Loud music blurring from one of the rooms (heard until 1130pm). Front desk checked us in quickly (best part) was asked to leave my keys so they could park it elsewhere when a spot came open (I declined as I did not feel comfortable). When entering the room it smelt very musty, opened the fridge to put our drinks in, COVERED in black mold. Floors didn't didn't looked like like had ever been vacuumed. Went to use the rest room, feces on thr wall by the toilet paper roll, dirty bathroom floor as well. Went to wash our hands, sink was all busted in the bowl, food and I don't know what else all over the blow dryer. We just needed a place to lay our heads before our 5 o clock flight. Also, we were not told what to do when we arrived back from our flight,, called the hotel and the gentleman was very rude with giving directions. Waiting 20 mins for shuttle.. We will NOT be returning, this place...
