It seems that some of the reviews here may be for a business that existed under a previous name. My review refers to the current "Boulevard Grill."
I travel for a living, and as a beer lover I always seek out local breweries and brew-pubs. Checking into the Four Points by Sheraton, KC Airport I was pleased to find the Boulevard Grill. Upon entering I was led to believe that this was a genuine Boulevard-owned establishment. At least eight Boulevard beers are on tap, and Boulevard logos are everywhere.
The bar has daily beer specials, and on this Thursday night, "Tank 7" was on special for $3. The beer was great, and the taps seems to be well cared-for.
However, my complaint is similar to other reviewers here, namely about the service and food. Actually, my server was attentive and friendly, though she was obviously over-worked. In fact, all the servers, including the manager, were running around with frowns on their faces.
I hesitate to rate the food, having only tried one item. I ordered the sliders from the appetizer menu. Sliders are a popular dish at many bars, and usually feature good bread, quality meat, and creative toppings. Now, I admit to not reading the description on the menu, but what I was served was a thin beef patty, American cheese, served on cheap grocery-store white bread. No artisan bun, no lettuce, tomato, pickle, sauce, etc. A very boring dish.
After leaving I visited the Boulevard website and found no mention of any local brew-pub locations, which leads me to believe that this establishment is basically stealing the Boulevard brand to boost its own business. It's admirable that they serve so many Boulevard beers, but unfortunately the overall experience is far short of what most breweries would expect from its own brew-pubs.
So, if you are staying at the hotel, go downstairs and enjoy a few lovely Boulevard brews, but don't go for great...
Read moreJust left there tonight... Only close restaurant open during the snowstorm and i highly understand the amount of people and orders that they were going through, but however the service between the workers was terrible. Upon walking in about 715/720 we were in a long line... which was expected. We were told that it would be an hour wait, so that was fine. A pink haired lady came up and told everyone and split the line up from those who were wanting to sit in and To Go Orders. We stood in the TGO line and for 2 HOURS NO ONE CAME BACK. I had to go and speak to the Pink haired girl... she said she would get a estimate of time from the manager. She continued to work the bar area for another 20 mins or so and then did some table bussing and talking with those that came in early. BTW did have a few line cutters that were served with no problems, but we didn't know until they admitted that they did. We waited until about 9pmish and one of the people in my party asked the pink haired girl if they were closing at 10pm and she said they would, and we asked if it was ok to order something and she said they probably wouldn't have time to get to it. I gave a bad rating due to that incident and i know everyone was busy but always make sure to come and talk with those in the long line to explain the time at least every 15 minutes so people can make other decisions if need be or better yet.... quit servicing the lobby area and only offer TGO so that way it would be easier on them and probably have more help in the kitchen rather than dealing with the public. Regardless of the situation.... bad service on that matter and not a good strategy to combat the overwhelming of customers with little to...
Read moreI only rated this 1 star because it is all it would allow me to. When we arrived, the waitress said it would be at least 45 minutes before we got our order. We accepted because it was the only thing available as we were snowed in and our flight was cancelled, and there were no delivery services available. We sat at a dirty table and asked a waitress to wipe the table down. She very rudely grabbed a rag and half assed wiped It down while I had to get a dry napkin off of another table and wipe the rest. It took us 20 minutes to get our drinks and over an hour and a half to receive half of our food order and another 20 minutes to receive the rest. In the meantime, the waitress brought us a 22 Oz beer that we didon't order(and charged us for it). After 2 hours of sitting there, and while waiting for our check, a nice young couple sat at the bar and started talking to us about how their flight had been cancelled and how they were hoping to get home the next day, when the waitress rudely came up and informed them that they had taken somebody's spot because they were smoking and said "are you going to order or not". At that time, we offered them our DIRTY table as we cleaned it up for them and proceeded to leave. I might add this couple was a young black couple and treated with complete disrespect. I felt as though I should have paid for their meal, which the hotel should have due to the obsurdity of the situation. When we left, we complained to the front desk, while our complaints were met with a robotic "I'm so sorry". I will never go back here nor do I ever recommend this establishment to anyone let...
