La Fuente Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Kearney

We were the only ones in on Sunday, Jan 3, 2021. The chief's game had just started. The long blonde haired girl ( not Mexican) sat us at the very first table. My husband asked if we could set a different table so we could both see the game. She said there's a tv right there...we had to set on the same side of the table to see it. She didn't care and didn't offer to move us. We had just put our drink order in and were looking at the menu when she said she'd put our food order in --- we had not even had a chance to look at the menu. We felt like we were being rushed in an empty restaurant. Food and the Male waiter were ok...we had to ask twice for more sauce and were charged extra for sour cream when I couldn't see they had put it on my tacos. Very unpleasant experience. Need to remind employees that customer service brings people back. Rushing them and setting us where we had to watch employees sitting doing nothing is not good for business. Very...

When this first opened in the new building it was all good. Great building, fast service, good food. That was about 8 months ago. Unfortunately the food quality is steadily dropping. Still good as an upscale Taco Bell. All the fast food type Mexican dishes are good I think because they're easy and fast. Items needing more care in preparation are not nearly as good as they were 6 months ago. We go here about once a month hoping the food quality will improve but it keeps getting worse. Last visit I ordered Chili Verde withe steak. Came to the table in less than 5 minutes. The green sauce was from a jar and just warmed up. The steak strips was probably prepared for fahitas and sitting around in a bowl for quick use. Cold and tough. Sorry but not a new experience here. If you want a Burrito, Taco, Chimi, etc and don't mind paying $10 then probably ok. If you want a well prepared dinner then...

La Fuente Mexican Restaurant is your basic restaurant. Their street tacos are decent but they don’t taste “authentic”, same with the rest of their food. Their alcoholic drinks are pretty basic as well, I ordered a Michelada and it was “okay” but nothing special.

Prices are fair, there’s enough seating inside and an ages outside where you can sit as well.

The staff is nice and the place is clean. And there is also plenty of parking and every time I’ve gone there was either no wait to be seated or the wait was less than 10 minutes.

I’d recommend if you’re looking for just regular Mexican food, but if you’re looking for more flavor or more of an authentic taste and feel, I’d go elsewhere. But they aren’t a terrible place...
