Office was closed all day Saturday and only the cleaning lady (who was actually nice and was concerned about our experience) was there on Sunday. Because of g the his no one was answering the phones until about 4:30 Saturday. That conversation was shockingly rude and I will never be back to this establishment. I asked why the dirty sheets were not changed and was told they don’t do that since they were not dirty if I hadn’t been in use for a week. Then the woman, who never bothered to identify herself hung up on me. There was no deadbolt, peep hole and the security slide on the door didn’t work. The toilet had been used but not flushed when we got there and would not flush Sunday but we couldn’t do anything but leave a message. The floors were still wet from being shampooed , which created a strong chemical smell when we went in, but they were very clean looking. No Kleenex box and no way to get extra towels, since the phone went straight to the answering machine once she cut the call. We were placed in a second story room across the street. The door closure on the outside door is so tight that it takes a grown adult with both hands to open it. That’s after walking up stairs with railings on one side only, no overhead light bulbs, hardware is there, and what looked like a non-active camera. There is a bbq grill on the landing I’m front of the door. Honestly the gentleman who checked us in and the cleaning lady who took our key, since there was no one to check us out, were the bright spots of the visit. The other bright spot was some lovely views of the town and...
Read moreThis motel is not like many others that I've been to. Although they are in the process of remodeling, that didn't bother me in the least. Not only are the rooms quiet (I hear EVERYTHING when I'm in a hotel/motel room), they are comfy and have great internet, an amazing selection on cable TV. In the winter time, it may take a few minutes to get hot water in the shower (what do you expect when temperatures are sub zero outside!), Yet once it comes, the water is as hot as you can handle, and doesn't seem to go away quickly. The manager is a humble, hard working, down to earth gal who was an absolute pleasure to work with! My only misgiving that I had during my two week stay was that my neighbors, for a night, decided to party all night and leave their door open. I was working 12 hour days and let the manager know, who in turn handled it very diplomatically in my estimation. I liked this place so much, I've already made a reservation to go back. Absolutely the best hotel/motel experience I've had in all my years traveling for work! Did I mention that there is a very affordable laundry mat right next door where one can wash/dry their clothes OR drop them off, for a small fee, to be laundered. It's attached to a car wash that will leave your car feeling just as spicy and span as your clothes. This motel is conveniently located near a few gas stations and just a few minutes walk from great eating, as well as bowling lanes and a few bars. Awesome stay, can't wait to...
Read moreWe've actually stayed here twice, once in 2014 en route to Sturgis, and again last night, the latter being somewhat 'under duress' due to car trouble. Upon informing the desk clerk on the phone that we would be a very late arrival, they assured us that someone would be on-premises to check us in, and sure enough, they were. The rate was very reasonable and the room we stayed in (#1) looked to have been remodeled from when we stayed here last.
When I made the reservation, I volunteered to give a credit card number, but seeing as though it's off-season, availability (or lack thereof) wasn't an issue, so they let us book without one. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well.
The only suggestion I would make: supply extra pillows either in the room or available on request as many people sleep with a pillow between their knees as well as under their head. Not sure if the need to stay overnight in Kemmerer will arise in the foreseeable future, but if/when it does, we'll probably stay at the Antler both for...
